Regarding the recent incident of a young man being chased and beaten by a man on the street in Tan Dinh Ward (HCMC), which caused a stir in public opinion, on September 6, Mr. T., a nurse working at the Saigon Regional Medical Center (formerly District 1 Medical Center) - who was directly present at the scene - shared with Dan Tri reporter what he witnessed.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of September 4, Mr. T. was working at the Saigon Regional Medical Center (headquartered on Dang Tat Street) when he heard screams, so he ran outside to watch and witnessed a young man being repeatedly beaten in the face by a man after a traffic collision.

Seeing the aggressive man, Mr. T. loudly suggested that the young man run to the medical center for refuge. The young man then complied, but was still chased into the medical facility by the man who had assaulted him earlier.

“I saw that the man who attacked the young man was drunk, so I and the security guard tried to stop him. But he continued to curse and picked up a chair used to measure blood pressure for patients at the medical center, intending to throw it at the victim.

Luckily, we intervened in time so this did not happen. Seeing that there was nothing more he could do, the man cursed for a while before leaving,” the male nurse said.

The victim was noted by medical staff to have abrasions in the mouth area and was directed to the restroom to rinse his mouth and clean his wounds. The incident was then reported to the authorities.

According to Mr. T., sometimes at his workplace there are cases of patients losing their temper and causing trouble, but this is the first time he has directly intervened to prevent a case of rushing into a medical center and beating someone.

Previously on September 5, social media users spread a clip recording the scene of a young man being assaulted by a man on the street in Tan Dinh ward.

The viral image shows a man loudly cursing and then attacking a young man sitting on a motorbike. When the young man got off the motorbike and walked to the side of the road, the man chased after him and repeatedly hit him on the head.

Even when the victim ran into a medical center on the side of the road for help, the man continued to chase and beat him, but was stopped by medical staff and security guards.

On the same day, September 5, another clip was circulated on social media, recording a man wearing the same outfit as the one who assaulted the young man, driving a motorbike without a helmet, continuously ramming the back of a moving car on Phan Dinh Phung Street, Phu Nhuan Ward.

Tan Dinh Ward Police are coordinating with relevant units to investigate and clarify the cause of the incident.
