Specifically, at Hanoi National University of Education, there are many majors with a benchmark score above 28.5, such as literature pedagogy and history pedagogy, both with a benchmark score of 29.3, candidates must achieve a minimum average of nearly 9.8 points/subject to be admitted; geography pedagogy has a benchmark score of 29.05 points.

The political education major has a benchmark score of 28.83; the civic education major has a benchmark score of 28.6; and the history-geography pedagogy major has a benchmark score of 28.83.

In 2024, at Pedagogical University 2, there were 2 majors that also “failed” students with a score of 9.5 points/subject. Those were Literature Pedagogy and History Pedagogy with a benchmark score of 28.83.

At Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the majors of literature and history education both have a standard score of 28.6 in all admission combinations.

Computer science is considered the "dominant" major in terms of admission scores in the 2024 admissions season in many ways.

With the priority admission method according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University, the computer science major of this school has a standard score of 10/10; with the priority direct admission method according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University, the standard score is 9.8/10 points.

Furthermore, in the method based on the results of international language certificates combined with academic records, the school's computer science major has a standard score of up to 9.58.

In the graduation exam score method, every major has the highest standard score in the school with a round score of 28.5 points.

At Hanoi University of Science and Technology, computer science also leads the benchmark score with 28.53.

In 2024, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University), the journalism department also directly eliminated students who scored 9.5 points in the subject when the benchmark score was 28.88.

In general, the benchmark score in 2024 is high due to the high school graduation exam scores that year. According to many admissions experts, the top schools with scores above the benchmark may remain stable or decrease slightly. The middle and top schools with scores below the benchmark this year may decrease by 1-2 points.

According to quick statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, as of 5:00 p.m. on July 28, the number of candidates registered for admission was nearly 850,000 out of more than 1.1 million candidates taking the high school graduation exam.

The number of applications for university and college admission in 2025 is 7,615,560 (reaching a rate of more than 73%). On average, each candidate chooses 8.96 applications.

From the afternoon of August 20, universities can start announcing admission scores. The first round of admission results must be announced no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 22.

The general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training will process and determine the highest wish among the wishes for which the candidate is eligible to be admitted.
