Accelerating urbanization in Binh Duc ward

In recent years, many projects have been implemented from the budget of Long Xuyen City (old), wards and communes before the merger and socialization. The progress of projects in the area has been accelerated, such as: Bac Long Xuyen Urban Area, Traditional Medicine Hospital, Long Xuyen bypass... In the period of 2025 - 2030, An Giang will continue to develop commensurate with its position as one of the political , economic and cultural centers of the country. With that trend, Binh Duc ward has higher development conditions, according to the economic structure of agriculture, trade, services, industry - handicrafts. The urban area will also be invested, gradually renovated and completed in the direction of clean, beautiful, civilized and modern.

Recently, the Ward Party Committee mobilized the construction of the Medical Station bridge, 32m long, with a total cost of more than 600 million VND. All resources were mobilized from the active contributions of philanthropists and the people, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, consensus, and promoting the strength of the entire people in carrying out political tasks in the locality. On August 19, 2025, the project was inaugurated, practically establishing achievements to welcome the 1st Ward Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030. In addition, the Youth Union of Binh Duc Ward carried out a very practical youth project to welcome the congress. That is to replace the electricity system for 15 near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances in Binh Hoa 2 hamlet.

In the new term with many new tasks, the Party Committee of Binh Duc Ward sets out the general goals to be achieved by 2030, including: Focusing on land management, building urban infrastructure along with environmental protection; promoting economic restructuring towards trade - services, industry - handicrafts and agriculture; bringing sustainable development to the ward economy, increasing income, stabilizing life, gradually improving public welfare for the people; ensuring political security and social order and safety, building a people's security posture associated with a solid national defense. The ward continues to build and improve the quality and effectiveness of the political system, in which the role of the Party Committee is the leading nucleus, forming a comprehensive force, mainly affecting the construction and development of the locality, achieving achievements in commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam .

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Duc Ward Vo Van Hoa said: "To achieve that, the locality has identified two breakthroughs. Firstly, mobilizing all resources to invest, upgrade and complete the transport infrastructure system; creating favorable conditions for economic sectors to participate in developing trade - services, tourism, small-scale industry and agriculture. Secondly, focusing on applying technology, digital transformation in management, operation and provision of public services; prioritizing the development of agricultural production applying science and technology, linked to the production and consumption chain".

In the 7 groups of tasks and solutions that need to be focused on, Binh Duc ward is determined to speed up the progress of construction projects invested by the ward; closely coordinate with investors in site clearance, investment in construction of technical infrastructure works, headquarters, hospitals, etc. Along with that, the ward continues to mobilize people to carry out bridge, road, public lighting system projects. Coordinate the implementation of urban infrastructure projects (waste treatment, drainage, green parks, etc.); deploy technical infrastructure connections between urban areas, residential areas, complete the power supply, water supply, and drainage systems. By mobilizing resources from the province and investors, the ward strives to accelerate the pace of urbanization, gradually investing in completing urban infrastructure.

The Binh Duc Ward Party Committee has set 17 main targets for the 2025 - 2030 term. Some important targets include total state budget revenue in 5 years of more than 53 billion VND; average annual growth rate of total product value in the area reaching 13%; striving to have per capita income reach 113 million VND/year by 2030; the ward has no more poor households according to multidimensional standards; urbanization rate reaching 50%.
