On the afternoon of June 29, more than one million candidates completed the high school graduation exam with the final subject being English in 60 minutes.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Huu Phuoc, an English teacher at Bui Thi Xuan High School, Ho Chi Minh City, assessed that the exam was relatively easy and did not challenge candidates. The structure of the exam closely followed the 2023 sample exam and previous years' exams. The grammar content was spread out, there were no tricky questions, and it mainly covered the 12th grade curriculum. Meanwhile, the communication questions were very practical and close to life.
However, the test still has many questions to differentiate students. The difficult questions mainly fall into the vocabulary and idioms section.
"In general, if students just study the textbooks carefully, they will easily get 6-7 points, but to get 9 points or higher, candidates must be careful," said Mr. Phuoc.
