Vu Quang National Park has long been considered a precious "rough gem", possessing majestic, pristine natural landscapes and an extremely rich ecosystem. However, these potentials have not been adequately exploited.
The approval of the Project on eco-tourism, resort and entertainment of Vu Quang National Park for the period 2025 - 2030 (hereinafter referred to as the project) by the Provincial People's Committee Chairman is expected to create a strong push, turning potential into a driving force for socio -economic development.

The core objective of the project is to exploit the existing values of landscape, biodiversity, forest ecosystems and historical and cultural relics to develop tourism in a sustainable direction. More importantly, the project creates a solid legal corridor to attract potential businesses and investors, creating resources for the systematic construction and development of tourism .
In addition, the project also aims to improve management capacity for the park, while creating a mechanism for local people to directly participate in tourism activities. Contributing to job creation, increasing income, improving material and spiritual life, and most importantly, raising awareness of forest protection, biodiversity conservation and indigenous cultural values.

Mr. Nguyen Danh Ky - Director of Vu Quang National Park said that the project aims to attract at least 15,000 tourists by 2030, of which international visitors account for at least 8%. The rate of overnight visitors is expected to reach 30% of the total number of visitors, bringing in total revenue of at least 20 billion VND. In particular, revenue from annual forest environment rental is expected to reach at least 500 million VND, contributing to reinvestment in conservation and development.
In terms of society, the project aims to create regular jobs for about 500 workers, including 100 direct workers and 400 indirect workers. These workers will be trained in professional skills and ecotourism associated with community livelihoods, ensuring high-quality human resources. The park also aims to attract at least 5 investors to cooperate, link and rent forest environments, and jointly develop ecotourism in accordance with legal regulations.

"The project also clearly identifies diverse tourism types and products, including: eco-tourism, picnics, scientific research tours, visits to historical sites and scenic spots, cruises, adventure tourism combined with mountain climbing and resort tourism. Specific products such as accommodation services, cuisine, camping, adventure exploration, boating, mountain climbing, organizing conferences, seminars, scientific research... will be focused on development.
Five unique eco-tourism routes have also been proposed, including: exploring the botanical garden; exploring Da Ban Island; exploring Thang Day waterfall and the thousand-year-old pơmu complex; exploring Phan Dinh Phung citadel and the ancient crocodile forest; conquering Rao Co peak," said Mr. Nguyen Danh Ky.

After the project was approved, Vu Quang National Park proactively coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to hold a press conference to announce the project, and at the same time developed a specific plan to implement the key contents. The work of inviting businesses, organizations and individuals with sufficient capacity and potential to invest in tourism development in the park is also being promoted by the unit.
"The approval of the project is an important milestone, opening up a golden opportunity for Vu Quang National Park to maximize its natural and cultural values. We are committed to implementing the project in a systematic and scientific manner, ensuring harmony between tourism development and conservation work," emphasized Mr. Nguyen Danh Ky.

The approved project has truly touched the long-standing aspirations of local people, igniting the belief in a comprehensive change for this land with many difficulties. Local people here expect that the flow of tourists and investors will bring a new breath of life, create jobs and increase income right in their homeland.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (Vu Quang commune) could not hide her joy: "We are very excited to see Vu Quang National Park receiving attention for investment in tourism development. This not only helps protect the forest better but also brings many job opportunities, promotes local specialties to tourists, contributes to expanding the market, and improves the lives of local people. We hope that tourism will awaken the potential of Vu Quang, bringing practical benefits to the community".

Vu Quang National Park currently manages more than 57 thousand hectares of forest and forestry land. This place is assessed by domestic and foreign experts as the area with the highest biodiversity in the region. This area has an extremely rich flora with 1,616 species of useful plants, along with 13 groups of non-timber forest products in a total of 1,823 species belonging to 202 families of vascular plants. Many large-sized rare timber species such as pơmu, du sam nui dat, lim xanh, hoang dan giap gia, three-sided oak, dracontomelon and other rare species create a majestic primeval vegetation.
The fauna is equally diverse with 6 main classes: mammals (94 species), birds (315 species), fish (88 species), reptiles (58 species), amphibians (33 species) and butterflies (316 species). In particular, Vu Quang National Park is home to many endangered, rare and endemic species of the Truong Son range such as saola, large-antlered muntjac, brown-shanked douc langur, white-cheeked gibbon, Truong Son striped rabbit, sun bear...
Besides its biological value, Vu Quang also possesses many pristine and beautiful landscapes such as Thang Day waterfall, Trai Cua, Da Ban island, Rao Co peak, Rao Rong stream... The presence of Ngan Truoi irrigation lake and Da Han irrigation lake with dozens of large and small islands further increases the potential for developing eco-tourism and resorts.
