Representatives of the Phu Tan Area CTMT Board visited the family life of Ms. Ho Thi Trinh, the household that was given a Great Unity house in 2025.
Ms. Trinh still has not forgotten the feeling of excitement and happiness when moving into the Great Unity house that still has the smell of paint thanks to the local social support campaign. For more than 10 years of marriage, Ms. Trinh and her husband have been working as construction workers. Having participated in hundreds of large and small housing projects, Ms. Trinh often dreams of her own small house.
Ms. Trinh said: “During the days of building the house, the officers of the local CTMT Board came back and forth to ask if the family needed anything or lacked anything so that they could provide timely support. Initially, the benefactor promised to give the family 50 million VND to build the house. During the construction process, seeing the enthusiasm of the officers and the family helping out with labor to save costs, the contractor and sponsor provided additional support for my husband and I to build a solid house, worth about 100 million VND. On the housewarming day, the ward officers and sponsor gave many gifts and 2 million VND in cash. My husband and I were very happy.”
According to Mr. Nguyen Cong De, Head of the Phu Tan Area CTMT Board, the area has a large area in the long-term planning project, affecting people's lives. The area CTMT Board has stepped up propaganda and mobilized people to comply with the Party's policies and the State's laws. At the same time, actively taking care of people's lives. In the past 3 years, the area has supported the construction of 5 new Great Unity houses, with a total value of over 300 million VND, to give to poor households, near-poor households and households with difficult housing circumstances. Every year, the CTMT Board mobilizes support for more than 200 gifts (each worth 300,000 VND or more) to support poor households, near-poor households and households with difficult circumstances on the occasion of holidays and Tet.
At the same time, the regional unions manage two loan groups from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), helping union members, members and people borrow preferential loans to develop their family economy , with an outstanding loan of nearly 3.5 billion VND. The family of Ms. To Thi Tuyet Nhung, a women's union member, has only 2 hectares of land, cultivating mixed gardens, with little profit. Ms. Nhung was given the opportunity to access preferential loans from the VBSP, invest in opening a grocery store and renovating a specialized jackfruit garden.
Ms. Nhung said: “Thanks to the grocery store, the family has an additional income of over 300,000 VND/day, allowing them to better support their children’s education. The jackfruit garden alone has produced fruit, generating a profit of over 30 million VND/year.”
The economic situation of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lua's family was also very difficult. Her husband was sick, and Mrs. Lua struggled to make a living alone. "The local officials helped me apply for a loan from the Social Policy Bank to buy and sell farm products, fish, and meat. I also bought a vehicle and pushed the cart to sell to many neighboring areas. Thanks to that, I earned more than 200,000 VND/day," Mrs. Lua shared.
Mr. Nguyen Cong De, Head of the Regional CTMT Board, informed: "In 2022, the area had 4 poor households. In the past 3 years (2022-2024), the area has helped all 4 households escape poverty. In 2025, after review, the area still has 5 near-poor households. We will continue to coordinate and assign responsibilities for organizations to sponsor and support members and union members who are poor and near-poor households. In addition, we will focus on mobilizing socialized resources to care for and support people to overcome difficulties and develop production."
Mr. Dang Van Chau, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Phu Ward, noted: "The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Tan area has made many efforts in propagating and mobilizing people to comply with the Party's policies, the State's laws, and campaigns launched by the Fatherland Front at all levels; at the same time, actively mobilizing socialization to care for social security, thanks to which, many households have risen to stabilize their lives."
