Vietnamese football stars light up dreams for 1,000 children

The “1,000 Balls for Children” project was founded by Do Kim Phuc, one of the most famous football content creators in Vietnam over the past 10 years. The freestyle athlete, who was once an Asian champion and ranked fourth in the world, called for donations with the Sports Wish Fund to donate 1,000 balls to football-loving children in disadvantaged areas.

Accompanying Do Kim Phuc in this project are many stars of Vietnamese football. These include Nguyen Quang Hai, Dang Van Lam, Doan Van Hau, Pham Tuan Hai, former national team player, Golden Ball for women Do Thi Ngoc Cham...

The project team will directly deliver gifts to barefoot soccer players in 20 provinces and cities, starting from September 2024.

“After traveling through winding roads, traveling to places without electricity or phone signal, Phuc realized that there are still many places in Vietnam that are really difficult. Phuc and his team had to discuss and find solutions many times, not only with balls, but also with milk cartons, toys and other items to hand out to the children.

Seeing the children's happy smiles when holding the new balls in their hands, Phuc felt very touched. That is the motivation for Phuc and his team to try harder every day," the project founder shared.

In Tuyen Quang - a province heavily affected by Typhoon Yagi, besides donating balls, Do Kim Phuc's team also made improved meals for children and joined hands to repair two broken bridges so that people could travel more easily through sections with still-fast flowing water.

In addition, Do Kim Phuc has collaborated with the project “Sowing Football Dreams” to organize a journey to bring 22 children from Ha Giang to Hanoi and meet famous players from the Hanoi Police Club. These are activities to spread, promote passion and nurture football dreams in the community.
