From June 16, 2025, the first-level enrollment period for the 2025-2026 school year in Ca Mau officially began. Although it took place at a time when the two-level local government apparatus officially operated under the new model, theeducation sector still maintained the entire enrollment plan to ensure the rights of students and create convenience for parents.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Ho Thi Ky High School , An Xuyen Ward, plans to enroll about 1,100 students in Grade 6 and Grade 10. The school has carefully implemented the enrollment work. The Board of Directors has arranged a group of teachers and support staff on site, and equipment such as computers and printers are fully equipped, ensuring that documents and procedures are implemented quickly and conveniently for parents to submit their applications.

Parents are guided through the application process for the first grade at Ho Thi Ky High School.

Mr. Quach Minh Gia, Vice Principal of the school, said: “The school leaders also conduct enrollment for grades 6 and 10 according to the plan of the Department of Education and Training. Grade 10 is expected to enroll 600 students into 13 classes, grade 6 will enroll 500 students; especially grade 6 will enroll according to the needs of parents in neighboring wards. Enrollment will start from June 15 and will end on July 20. Although the number of students has increased, the school has proactively prepared classrooms, equipment, and desks and chairs to meet the needs of teaching and learning.”

Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc, Vice Principal of Nguyen Thai Binh Secondary School, Tan Thanh Ward, informed: "Currently, the school has received 392 applications for grade 6. According to the plan of the Department of Education of Ca Mau City (old), the school plans to enroll 10 classes with a total of 450 students."

In response to parents' concerns about changes in the local government model affecting enrollment, a representative of the provincial Department of Education and Training affirmed: All plans, regulations and enrollment time remain the same, causing no disruption. The Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province has directed schools to support and create the most favorable conditions for parents throughout the enrollment process, answer all questions and proactively handle arising situations.

Ms. Mai Thi Thuy, a parent of a student, shared: “I live in Tan Thanh ward, my child is in 6th grade this year. Today I came to school to submit my application, and the teachers and staff at Nguyen Thai Binh Secondary School created favorable conditions and enthusiastically guided me to complete the procedures quickly and conveniently. I believe that this will be a good educational environment for students.”

Ms. Mai Thi Thuy, Tan Thanh ward, submitted her child's application to enter grade 6 at Nguyen Thai Binh Secondary School.

The Department of Education and Training has also directed schools to proactively prepare facilities, classrooms, equipment and personnel to ensure that the enrollment process and preparations for the new school year go smoothly and on schedule./.
