People of Dai Phuc commune focus on developing organic tea growing areas. |
Ms. Luong Thi Thao's household in Cay Thi hamlet, Dai Phuc commune, is maintaining about 1,000m2 of tea plantation. In recent years, her family has regularly raised 10-15 buffaloes. Using composted manure to fertilize the tea, her family's tea garden grows well all year round, with much higher productivity and quality than when using chemical fertilizers.
Along with maintaining the existing tea growing areas in households, Dai Phuc commune has established tea processing and trading cooperatives. Most cooperatives are linked with tea growing households to build stable raw material areas for production, ensuring the quality of fresh tea during processing.
A typical example is Kim Thoa Tea Cooperative, established and put into operation in 2022 with a charter capital of 600 million VND, including 7 members. The Cooperative is maintaining a 5-hectare tea material area grown according to VietGAP. The annual output of fresh tea buds is over 88 tons, 75% of which is consumed by the Cooperative, the rest is sold to the market by members. The tea products of Kim Thoa Tea Cooperative have been granted a 4-star OCOP certificate. On average, each year, Kim Thoa Cooperative sells about 6 tons of dry tea to the market, with a revenue of over 1 billion VND.
Ms. Tong Thi Kim Thoa, Director of Kim Thoa Tea Cooperative, said: Since its establishment, the Cooperative has focused on producing and processing clean, safe tea products that meet organic standards. Member households that grow and supply raw materials for processing to the Cooperative are managed from fertilizer to care and harvesting processes.

The cooperative households mainly use organic fertilizers such as composted manure, biological products and organic microbial fertilizers. Households use biological products to spray pesticides and manually clear weeds. Consumers today are very concerned about the quality, cleanliness and safety of products, so this is always the top priority of the cooperative.
Dai Phuc Commune aims to produce about 31,500 tons of fresh tea buds by 2030, with product value per hectare of tea growing land reaching over 1 billion VND/year; the total value obtained from tea trees annually reaching about 1,268 billion VND.
To achieve this goal, the locality is continuing to promote digital transformation in agriculture towards smart agriculture , building unique tea products to serve tourism development. Tea processing will also be focused on to create many high-quality products.
Mr. Nguyen Nam Tien, Party Secretary and Chairman of Dai Phuc Commune People's Committee, said: In the local socio -economic development orientation, Dai Phuc commune focuses on building a brand and paying attention to safety in tea production and processing. Tea products will be deeply processed, applying science and digital transformation to increase people's income per unit area.
The commune strives to have the value of tea trees reach from 900 million to 1 billion VND/ha/year by 2030, with revenue reaching 1,000 - 1,500 billion VND. The commune also focuses on product promotion, turning tea trees into a tourist commodity. Along with promoting tea products, the locality will focus on promoting tea culture to tourists.
With its existing potential and advantages, along with appropriate solutions, Dai Phuc commune is aiming to become a key commune in economic and tourism development. In particular, continuing to improve the quality and brand of tea trees is considered one of the three breakthroughs for local socio-economic development.
