Arousing the strength of national solidarity and promoting the role of the people as the main subject in building a new prosperous life has been effectively implemented by Duc Phu commune in recent times.

Together for the homeland

Mr. Tran Cong Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Duc Phu Commune Party Committee, said that for the locality, the spirit of great solidarity is not only a slogan but has become an action in life to join hands in building the homeland, towards a peaceful life and sustainable development.

The whole commune currently has nearly 2,400 households, of which more than 1,200 are religious households, accounting for more than 50% of the population.

In recent years, the political system of Duc Phu commune has done a good job of propaganda and mobilizing the people, paying special attention to mass mobilization work among religious people, contributing to consolidating and enhancing the great national unity bloc.

Emulation movements and campaigns led by the Front have all had the active participation of the people, especially Catholics and Buddhists. Many models and creative approaches have been created from the grassroots, contributing to spreading the spirit of solidarity and affection in the community.

At Thuan Yen Parish or Yen Son Pagoda, beautiful stories about neighborly love and kindness quietly spread.

At Yen Son Pagoda, the abbot spent more than 10 years taking care of a lonely old man until the end of his life. And now continues to take care of 3 orphans.

At Thuan Yen Parish, many meaningful activities for the homeland were also launched.

Mr. Tran Minh, Chairman of the Pastoral Council of Thuan Yen Parish, said that for many years, female parishioners in Dong Hoa Sub-district have built charity rice jars to give to people in difficult circumstances in the commune. “We are not only building a parish that lives a good religion, but also a place where parishioners act for the community. Here, no one stands outside the work of building their homeland. In every local movement from donating land to open roads, cleaning the environment, maintaining security and order, to the movement to build new rural areas, there is the participation of parishioners,” said Mr. Minh.

That consensus does not stop at personal kindness, but has become a way of life for the community. Self-management models such as “Women’s group for environmental protection”, “Removal of temporary housing for religious people”… have received strong response from the people.

“From 2016 to now, the locality has mobilized the construction of 5 houses for religious people in difficult circumstances, with a total cost of nearly 200 million VND, of which religions contributed 2 houses worth 50 million VND. It can be said that in the development journey of Duc Phu, no one is left out. Every citizen, whether religious or not, joins hands to build a strong and humane great unity,” Mr. Tran Cong Hieu shared.

"Even though it is difficult, the people can still do it"

Duc Phu Commune determined to continue consolidating and promoting the great national unity bloc, considering this a key factor to successfully implement the goals of socio -economic development and advanced new rural construction.

According to Mr. Tran Cong Hieu, the Commune Party Committee will strengthen the role of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in mobilizing and gathering people from all walks of life. The propaganda content will continue to be innovated towards being closer to the people, closer to reality, promoting the role of dignitaries, officials, and prestigious people in religion and the community.

The locality will maintain and expand self-management models in residential areas, encourage volunteer activities, and help the disadvantaged. At the same time, it will increase meetings and dialogues between Party committees, authorities and the people, listen to their thoughts and aspirations to promptly resolve arising issues.

Along with that, the commune continues to improve the capacity of the Front and mass organization staff, ensuring adequate qualities, abilities, and skills in mass mobilization, close to the people, and meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.

The application of information technology in propaganda, administration, supervision and social criticism will be deployed synchronously, associated with the construction of digital government and service government.

Emulation and reward work, praising typical advanced models in solidarity movements, from the grassroots to the commune level, will be carried out promptly, creating a spreading momentum.

Regarding specific goals, Duc Phu commune strives for 100% of villages and ethnic groups to meet cultural standards, and more than 95% of households to meet cultural standards.

“Promoting the great national unity bloc will create a strong internal force for all policies and guidelines of the Party and State to come into life. With the spirit of solidarity, consensus, and responsibility of the political system and the consensus of the people, especially the companionship of religious compatriots, Duc Phu commune is firmly on the journey of building a rich and beautiful homeland with humanity,” said Mr. Tran Cong Hieu.
