Two suspects have been detained for assaulting a reporter at Hanoi Radio and Television Station.

According to initial information, immediately after the incident occurred, Dong Da District Police arrested one subject, the other escaped subject has turned himself in.

Previously, at 2:25 p.m. on June 6, when a group of reporters from Hanoi Radio were preparing to deploy their cameras to record the sale of rechargeable fans on the sidewalk in front of the electric fan store at 19 Dong Cac, O Cho Dua area, Dong Da district, a subject rushed out, shouted loudly, grabbed the collar and knocked down the TTC cameraman from Hanoi Radio.

Then another person from a nearby store joined in the assault. Even when someone intervened and the TTC reporter was lying on the street, the two subjects continued to aggressively punch and kick the reporter. Even when the reporter was taken to the station's car by his colleagues, the two subjects followed the car and threatened him.

Immediately after the incident, reporters reported it to the police and took Mr. TTC to the hospital for emergency treatment due to multiple injuries.

Hanoi Radio and Television Station has requested the authorities to verify and clarify the incident and strictly handle the hooliganism and disregard for the law of the subjects who assaulted the journalist in front of store number 19 Dong Cac street, and take necessary measures to protect journalists while they are working in accordance with the law.
