On June 23, in Da Nang, a forum was held to “Exploit the Power of US Investment in Central Vietnam” marking an important milestone within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations.
Over the past 30 years, Vietnam-US relations have made great strides, from normalization in 1995 to the recent upgrade to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Not only stopping at diplomatic relations, the two countries have increasingly deepened cooperation in key areas such as trade, technology, energy andeducation .

The forum “Tapping the Power of US Investment in Central Vietnam” is one of the typical activities in the series of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-US diplomatic relations. The event attracted the participation of leaders of central ministries, branches, Da Nang authorities, international organizations, investors and businesses of the two countries.
At the forum, delegates shared strategic visions and proposed specific solutions to effectively exploit the US investment potential in the Central region, especially in high value-added industries such as renewable energy, high technology, smart manufacturing, logistics and high-quality human resource training.

Right before the forum, on June 22, the Vietnamese Government announced the Decision to establish the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, affirming the vision of turning the city into a strategic economic development center, connecting the two regions of the country and deeply integrating into the global economy. This is considered a legal support and new driving force to attract investment, especially from major partners such as the United States.
Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, former Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States, emphasized: “The Central region has a golden opportunity to establish a strategic position in the regional and global value chain. In particular, Da Nang needs to take the lead in developing seaport infrastructure, logistics, high-tech industry and marine economy.”
Speaking at the forum, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, clearly stated 4 strategic solutions to realize the above goal.

Specifically, continue to effectively implement appropriate policy mechanisms to promote domestic and international investment; prioritize effective spending of state budget resources to ensure the synchronization of modern policy infrastructure development, issue new mechanisms to create a favorable legal environment for businesses and investors; review land funds, enhance dialogue between businesses and the state to exploit land funds more appropriately to serve the goal of economic integration investment; develop and train new human resources.
Two thematic discussions held within the framework of the forum brought many practical recommendations. In particular, the session “Sustainable energy and sustainable infrastructure - driving force for the future of the Central region” emphasized the strategic role of the region in the energy transition process, attracting investment in wind power, solar power and smart seaport infrastructure.

The session “High-tech manufacturing and high-quality human resource training” focused on innovation, technology transfer, developing R&D centers and establishing training programs connecting businesses and schools, aiming to build a workforce that can quickly adapt to the digital economy and global supply chains.
Mr. Andre Pierre, General Director of Furama Danang International Tourism Complex, the event host, affirmed his commitment to accompany the city in organizing international trade events, connecting investors, scholars and experts.
“Da Nang is ready to become a global destination for creative investment and digital transformation,” said Mr. Andre Pierre.
