Once an area with many "nothings" (no roads, no electricity, no clean water, no phone signal, no household registration book, no identity card), in recent years, thanks to the special attention of the Party Committees, authorities and the efforts of the people, Ea Rot village has had many changes.
Since 2017, people in Ea Rot village have been granted household registration books. Thanks to this, families have had the opportunity to develop their economy . For example, the family of Mr. Ly Van Thang (former Head of Ea Rot village) was able to borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank to invest in farming and livestock raising.
To date, Mr. Thang's family has nearly 1 hectare of coffee, more than 2 hectares of acacia trees, and more than 2 sao of rice fields. In addition, he also raises breeding buffaloes, earning tens of millions of dong each year. He has built a spacious house, bought a motorbike, household appliances, and has food and savings.
Mr. Thang shared: “When I first started my career, the economic situation and living conditions were difficult, lacking in all aspects, especially transportation. Now the people's lives have completely changed. Roads are concreted, there is national grid electricity; schools and cultural houses are built spaciously right in the center of the village...”.
Mr. Giang Seo Chung's new house worth more than 300 million VND is in the completion stage. |
The effective use of capital, funding sources and making the most of available land for cultivation and livestock raising have changed the lives of people in Ea Rot village in a sustainable way. Ea Rot village has hundreds of hectares of sloping land, suitable for growing coffee, pepper, especially hybrid acacia. Up to now, people have planted 90 hectares of cassava, 34.9 hectares of coffee, more than 20 hectares of two-crop rice, and 370 hectares of hybrid acacia. Some households have large areas of hybrid acacia, bringing in high incomes such as the family of Mr. Thao Minh Sinh (8 hectares), Mr. Ly Seo Chung (6 hectares), Mr. Thao Minh Son (5 hectares)...
Village chief Vang Seo Mang said that in recent years, many villagers have boldly borrowed capital from the Social Policy Bank to buy seeds, fertilizers, and prepare land for planting acacia. Up to now, the outstanding debt from the Social Policy Bank in the village has reached more than 1 billion VND. With a maximum loan of 80 million VND/household, most villagers invest in planting acacia, buying farm vehicles to transport agricultural products...
With a stable source of income, the lives of most families in Ea Rot village have improved significantly. Many families have built new, spacious houses worth hundreds of millions of VND; many households have invested money to buy pipes to bring water from the source for daily use. Mr. Giang Seo Chung's family used to be one of the most difficult households in the village. Thanks to hard work in farming, raising livestock, and saving, he has recently built a house worth more than 300 million VND. Mr. Chung happily said: "The family has taken advantage of the land area to grow coffee, hybrid acacia, cassava, rice and raise breeding cows. After accumulating for many years, the family recently borrowed some more money from the bank to build a new house to live in. Next year, the family will harvest hybrid acacia and pay off the bank debt."
Ea Rot Primary School is built with solid high-rise buildings. |
Up to now, Ea Rot village has invested in building solid and synchronous infrastructure. The project to stabilize spontaneous migrants in Ea Rot village has invested a total capital of 156.9 billion VND in the period of 2020 - 2023, including items such as schools, community centers, bridges, culverts, and roads. The construction of the primary school, kindergarten, and solid village cultural house alone has been invested with nearly 15 billion VND. Especially after many years of waiting, recently the people of Ea Rot village were extremely excited because they were provided with national grid electricity.
Electricity, roads, schools, cultural houses, telephone signals, and internet have come to the H'Mong people, and the lives of the people here are changing day by day...
