In the warm atmosphere of the Revolutionary Autumn days, the Board of Directors of Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital warmly welcomed the delegation of Hai Duong General Hospital to exchange expertise, share experiences and implement cooperation plans, realizing the goal of further improving the quality of health care for the people. During the working program, the delegation of Hai Duong General Hospital visited and learned about typical operating models, clearly demonstrating the motto "Taking patients as the center of service" of Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital.

Witnessing the professional operation of the first-class medical facility in the city of Dong Hai Phong, Dr. Vu Minh Tiep, Director of Hai Duong General Hospital, Head of the working delegation happily said: “We have learned many valuable experiences such as the health examination process for officials under the management of the Central and City Party Committee to ensure a closed, professional, confidential and highest medical quality. While the management staff discussed effective hospital operating procedures, many other members of the Working Group spent more time paying attention to the specialized techniques that their colleagues at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital were implementing, such as: organ transplant techniques, open heart surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery, aortic bypass surgery; research and treatment of genetic diseases, genetic medicine, stem cells... and proposed to receive professional support.

Previously, Hai Phong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital - one of the top 5 obstetrics and gynecology hospitals in the country - was assigned by the Ministry of Health to direct hospitals of the same specialty in many other provinces and cities. Together with Yen Bai Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitals of Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Son La, Quang Ninh provinces and Can Tho city, Hai Phong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital organized training courses and transferred specialized techniques in obstetrics and gynecology.

In addition, Hai Phong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital organizes field trips, exchanges and transfers of hemostasis techniques, cancer screening and assisted reproductive techniques, such as: pre-implantation genetic testing techniques; use of platelet-rich plasma in cases of thin-endometrium embryo transfer... for doctors and technicians of Hai Duong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital.

Increase power

To be recognized as a grade 1 hospital at the provincial or municipal level, medical facilities must ensure strict standards and scorecards according to Circular No. 23/2005 of the Ministry of Health on guidelines for ranking medical service units. According to the ranking, to date, the Eastern Hai Phong area has 5 grade 1 hospitals at the city level, including: Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, Kien An Hospital, Hai Phong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Hai Phong Children's Hospital and Hai Phong Mental Health Hospital.

The West Hai Phong area has 3 grade 1 hospitals at the city level, including: Hai Duong General Hospital, Hai Duong Lung Hospital and Hospital 7 of Military Region 3. After the merger, the increase in the number of grade 1 hospitals at the city level helps the health sector strengthen its capacity, ensuring medical examination and treatment for people in both the East and West Hai Phong areas. People have more choices of reputable medical examination and treatment facilities, reducing the situation of referrals to the Central level.

According to comrade Le Minh Quang, Director of the Department of Health, after the merger, the area and population of Hai Phong city have doubled, the economic scale ranks third in the country, posing a great task for the health sector in the work of protecting and taking care of people's health in the coming time. At the same time, to strive to turn Hai Phong into the Medical Center of the Northern Coastal Region in the spirit of Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo and Resolution 07 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, in September 2025, the City People's Committee will complete the Project "Improving the capacity of Hai Phong's Health Care by 2030". In which, the synchronous solution to comprehensively develop the health system from the city to the grassroots level is that the first-class hospitals at the city level must ensure that they both perform well the tasks according to the ranked technical list and develop specialized techniques at the central level.
