Vietnamese community and international friends express condolences to former President Tran Duc Luong

On May 25, a memorial service and opening of condolence books for former President Tran Duc Luong were held in China, India and Indonesia.

In Beijing, China, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Hu Chunhua, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, Government and people of China, visited the Vietnamese Embassy in China to pay his respects and sign the condolence book.

On the same day, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji, and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning sent wreaths to the Vietnamese Embassy.

In the Indian capital New Delhi, on May 24 and 25, the Vietnamese Embassy in India also solemnly held a memorial service and opened a condolence book in memory of formerPresident Tran Duc Luong. Many international delegations came to pay their respects and sign the condolence book.

In the Indonesian capital Jakarta, the Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia held a memorial service and opened a condolence book in memory of comrade Tran Duc Luong. The memorial service and condolence book will last until the afternoon of May 26.

On the morning of May 24 (local time), the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy solemnly held a memorial service and opened a condolence book in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong. In the condolence book, representatives of the local government and embassies in Italy expressed their condolences over the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong and sent their deepest condolences to his family, as well as to the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

In New York, USA, on the morning of May 24 (Vietnam time), the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN) solemnly held a memorial service for former President Tran Duc Luong. The Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN welcomed many international delegations to pay their respects, sign the condolence book and express condolences on the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong, including the Ambassadors to the UN of Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Ethiopia, Timor-Leste, the Holy See...

On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in the US also solemnly held a memorial service and opened a condolence book in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong. On May 24 and 25, the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada also solemnly held a memorial service for former President Tran Duc Luong.

On May 24, the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba and agencies affiliated to the Embassy, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Cuba, and local and international friends expressed their deepest condolences over the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong. Dozens of high-ranking delegations, Cuban social organizations and diplomatic corps came to pay their respects and offer condolences to the Party, State and people of Vietnam.
