There is a Vietnam “attractive destination” in music

By harmoniously combining art, love of heritage and nature, the music projects of many domestic artists have been sowing the seeds of honoring rich heritage and culture. The songs resonate, spreading values and community responsibility.

Music "shakes hands" with heritage

“Over the years, wherever I have been in my country, I have recorded the sounds and noises of each locality. It could be the sound of trains running from North to South, the sound of the engine of a fishing boat on Phu Quy Island, the boats and sampans of the Mekong Delta, or the sound of fireworks in the sky of Nam Rom River - Dien Bien on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory... I want to preserve those sounds in this album as the sounds of the 2025 era”, guitarist Dzung (Pham Viet Dung) shared about the recently released album 2025 - Good not good too.

Ha Thi Cau Xam singing club (Yen Phong commune, Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh ) performs at the Forestival 2025 music festival.

The album was highly appreciated by experts for its creativity upon its release, leaving a strong impression. With the idea of traveling the country through traditional music , the album takes the audience through the beautiful lands of the Fatherland, participating in unique traditional festivals, listening to stories about the heroic history of our ancestors, enjoying local products, feeling the love of people of the new era. The album also features the participation of Meritorious Artist Hai Phuong, bass artists Tran Chanh Thao, Pham Anh Khoa, Le Hoang Phi.

In early June, instead of choosing familiar urban spaces, the Forestival 2025 music festival was held on Khe Coc Island - located inside the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Ninh Binh - a dual world heritage. The stage was staged based on the inspiration from the majestic "river and mountain shape", turning Forestival 2025 into a music and creative festival where music is deeply intertwined with the beauty of nature and the depth of cultural heritage.

In addition, the performances were staged with great intention, rich in emotion, connecting music with the heritage space. The audience witnessed an impromptu dialogue with Xam - a precious cultural heritage of Ninh Binh, mixed with modern trends such as rap, rock, ballad... performed with the emotional voices of Ha Anh Tuan, Den Vau, Hoang Dung, Vu Cat Tuong, Phan Manh Quynh...

Focus on material exploitation

Culture has always been considered an effective way to promote tourism as it easily penetrates into people’s souls, arousing the inspiration of “wanting to go and being able to go”. Understanding that, recently, there have been many works by artists, especially foreign singers, to promote Vietnamese culture and tourism.

In April, the MV Victory - Bond in Vietnam by the famous band Bond introduced to the public sharp images of the world natural heritage Ha Long Bay. Before that, artist Kenny G released the impressive song Going Home. In the MV, he played the trumpet on Long Bien Bridge at dawn, went to Hoan Kiem Lake, Hoa Phong Tower and The Huc Bridge, then passed by Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hanoi Flag Tower, Temple of Literature; or the MV Alone Part II (Alone, Pt.II) by Alan Walker was filmed at Son Doong Cave (Quang Binh), creating a big boost for Quang Binh tourism...

In the country, singer Vu Thang Loi once made an impression with the MV Ha Giang oi; Sen Hoang My Lam had Tay Bac va em; Den Vau had the MV Always love life, Nhac cua rung; Only C had the MV Tuyet voi Da Nang; K-ICM had the album Hoa; music producer Masew had the MV Vietnam my home, Kyo York launched Sugar... Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism once introduced the MV Vietnam go and go by Vicky Nhung with 600 scenes filmed at a series of famous tourist destinations such as Mua Cave (Ninh Binh), Lan Ha Bay (Hai Phong), Pu Luong (Thanh Hoa)... which was well received by young people.

The orientation of art projects shows an effort to meet the deeper needs of modern audiences, who seek experiences that go beyond entertainment value. However, the exploitation of music products in the direction of culture and tourism should focus on the exploitation of materials, because it is easy to duplicate ideas and images.

In fact, there have been many music products that exploit natural materials and regional culture that have encountered mixed opinions from the public due to carelessness, lack of understanding, and lack of thorough understanding of local knowledge, culture, and tourism. Therefore, with the support of cultural management units, localities, and creative artists, music projects can become effective tools to promote culture and tourism, helping to spread the image of Vietnam to the world in a more vivid and intimate way.
