Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club said goodbye to "Vietnam's Ronaldo" Tran Phi Son after only a short time.

On the morning of July 8, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club announced that it would be parting ways with 5 more players after the end of the 2024-2025 season. Notably, Tran Phi Son - midfielder nicknamed "Vietnam's Ronaldo" or "Nghe An's Ronaldo".

Tran Phi Son joined Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club in the second phase of the 2024-2025 First Division after leaving Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club. This is one of many new recruits of the Southeast team with the expectation of helping the team win promotion.

However, the 33-year-old's contribution was quite limited. He played in 5 matches (2 starts), scoring 1 goal in the 3-0 win over Long An Club at Binh Phuoc Stadium in the final round of the 2024-2025 First Division.

Besides Phi Son, another notable departure is Tong Anh Ty - a central midfielder who played for the Vietnam U20 team at the 2017 U20 World Cup in Korea. Playing for Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club, Tong Anh Ty only played 4 matches (1 starting).

In total, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club has said goodbye to 8 players after losing 0-2 to SHB Da Nang Club in the play-off match at the end of June and failing to gain promotion to the V-League.

Specifically, Tran Phi Son, Tran Manh Hung, Nguyen Van Quy, Le Van Nam, Tong Anh Ty, Hoang Minh Tam, Nguyen Tai Loc and Duong Van Trung.

In addition, the team also said goodbye to assistant coach Ueno Nobuhiro (Japan), goalkeeper coach Dang Dinh Duc, fitness coach Nguyen Ngoc An, doctor Truong Van Nga and interpreter Hoang Nhat Hoang.

Preparing for the new season, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club has reached an agreement with Coach Nguyen Viet Thang to lead the team to replace Coach Huynh Quoc Anh whose loan contract from SHB Da Nang Club has expired.

Coach Viet Thang - who brought Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club to the V-League 2025-2026 with a record of 20 unbeaten matches (19 wins) - is in Japan studying the second phase of the professional coach training course of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). He will only sign an official contract after returning to Vietnam on July 21.
