Ambassador Nguyen Phu Binh, Chairman of the Association for Liaison with Overseas Vietnamese, shared: "Many countries around the world are facing serious consequences of climate change. Right in Vietnam, last year super typhoon Yagi caused severe damage to both people and nature - leaving a profound warning about our living environment. We believe that "Returning Footsteps" will be a place for the Vietnamese community everywhere to join hands for a green Vietnam."
According to Mr. Binh, "Returning Footsteps" is not only a journey to remind people of their roots, but also a foundation for long-term initiatives for the community such as greening barren land, connecting overseas Vietnamese with their homeland, developing eco-tourism, and educating traditional culture for the younger generation.
Besides music, designer Thoa Tran also brought to the event the collection "Long co hung vi - Tien rong hoi tu and Ngu lien huong", honoring the Vietnamese ao dai combined with lotus flowers - the symbol of the Vietnamese soul. "The designs are a symphony of silk, patterns and colors, depicting the sacred soul of the nation through the lens of contemporary art, connecting tradition, modernity and aspirations for the future. Ao dai is not just a costume but an intangible cultural heritage. It is a symbol of femininity, elegance and Vietnamese spirit, associated with every historical period from traditional to modern. When combined with lotus flowers - ao dai becomes the language of the Vietnamese soul, beauty and intelligence. I want to send a message that wherever Vietnamese people go, they still carry in their hearts a lotus - the Vietnamese soul spreading its fragrance among the five continents", designer Thoa Tran shared.
Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee Le Thuy Hanh said: “I believe that every child living abroad, when returning to their homeland, brings with them a part of love, a part of memories and a part of the desire to contribute. “Returning Footsteps” is the resonance of those aspirations, to together light up a green, peaceful, affectionate and eternal Vietnam.”
“Return to serve - Return to spread love”, the program's slogan is not only a call to action, but also a declaration for a journey of deep return to the soul, where each Vietnamese person finds the connection between the past, present and future.
The organizers said that after Hung Yen, the program will continue to spread to many other localities with specific activities: launching tree planting campaigns, raising funds for forest planting, organizing seminars, art exchanges and training green living skills for the young generation.
