The young generation of journalists of the Provincial Media Center always strives to fulfill their professional roles and missions, contributing to making the position and brand of Quang Ninh journalism continue to spread more and more widely in society, receiving recognition and appreciation from both the political system and the people.
Sharing with us, journalist Minh Thu said: In addition to guiding, teaching, and giving feedback on my works in the early days of my career, my father always taught me that each journalistic work is a product of creative labor, and that journalists must have independent thinking. To have journalistic works that are full of life and fighting spirit, my father always advised me to maintain professional ethics, constantly learn, explore, and face reality. "Testing by fire" is what trains journalists to have a strong will, using reality to hone knowledge, skills, and courage, thereby helping young reporters like us to mature quickly in all aspects.
From the early days when she first started her career, through many positions, journalist Minh Thu is currently taking on the role of Deputy Head of the News Department, Provincial Media Center; in charge of propaganda work, performing the tasks of a print newspaper reporter and the Party Building - Internal Affairs team (print newspaper, television) in the department; building, giving comments, directing the implementation of special pages, topics, high-quality press works of reporters in the department. In the process of carrying out propaganda work, journalist Minh Thu always researches, innovates and innovates propaganda forms to improve the effectiveness and quality of the works. Together with the News Department, she has coordinated with other specialized departments to focus on timely, accurate, vivid and attractive information and propaganda, fully covering outstanding economic - political - social events of the province and the whole country.
Journalist Cao Minh Duc, reporter of the News Department, shared: Journalist Minh Thu not only participates in management work but also directly produces press works according to the propaganda plan of the agency and the department. The workload is large and the pressure is great, but she always upholds the spirit and responsibility in performing her duties, is decisive, dares to think, dares to do, dares to take responsibility in leading and operating the scope of her responsibility. In her work, she proactively seeks out and guides reporters to produce good and attractive topics and topics, encourages reporters to produce Emagazine works, and produces many types of press: Print, television, electronic, and radio. For example, the work "4 Good Party Cells - The Core of Party Members" that I produced, thanks to her guidance, the work was more complete, filled with the breath of life, and won the Second Prize of the Quang Ninh Press Award in 2024.
Also coming from a family tradition of journalism, journalist Do Phuong, a reporter for the News Department, has a father, journalist Do Khanh, a former reporter for the Economic Department (Quang Ninh Newspaper). Being involved in his father's work since childhood, hearing stories about the profession, the joys and hardships of journalism, participating in business trips, wandering around the streets, his passion for journalism, especially photojournalism, was nurtured and gradually formed in him from then on.
Journalist Do Phuong shared that it is his love for the profession and his passion for the profession that has helped him overcome difficulties and stick with journalism until now. Following in his father's footsteps, he will continue to improve his skills, strive to contribute to the profession, and always maintain the "heart" of a revolutionary journalist. Up to now, through many years of working in the profession, journalist Do Phuong has not only affirmed the trust and trust from his father, but also deserves to be a reporter of the Quang Ninh journalism community with many articles and works that are profound, attractive, and timely reflect the socio-economic issues in the province.
In the Quang Ninh press, everyone knows journalist Do Giang, the son of journalist - photographer Do Kha, former Head of the Political - Social Department (Quang Ninh Newspaper). More specifically, journalists Do Giang and Do Phuong are cousins, uncle and aunt. Both have a passion for photojournalism, nurtured and cultivated since childhood. Journalist Do Giang is famous for his photos of Ha Long Bay in all its forms. He holds the record for the person taking the most photos of Ha Long Bay from above. Besides, he also took many photos of nature and people of Quang Ninh, vivid and realistic. His passion for photojournalism is deeply rooted, helping him overcome difficulties and stick with the profession.
Journalist Do Giang confided: When I first started working as a journalist, I was very afraid of not being able to surpass my father's "shadow", because he was not only good at photography, he was also a journalist with deep and broad knowledge in many fields. Over time, from my father's concerns and suggestions, and the sharing of friends and colleagues, I focused on creating photojournalistic works with the desire to "tell" readers the most authentic and vivid things about the nature and people of Quang Ninh. The agency has created many conditions for me to satisfy my passion and "fly" with my profession.
Journalist Do Giang currently works at the Readers - Documentation Department, Provincial Media Center. He is one of the leading photographers in the province in terms of published photo books. He also holds personal photo exhibitions, including 3 photo exhibitions on Yen Tu Sacred Mountain. His works have contributed to promoting the image of people and nature of Quang Ninh to people at home and abroad.
Also a "son of a family", continuing the family tradition, journalist Tran Tuan Hung, Department of Arts - Sports - Entertainment, has been working as a cameraman and cinematographer for nearly 20 years. Studying filming at the Television High School of Vietnam Television, in 2005, he graduated and worked at Quang Ninh Radio and Television Station (now the Provincial Media Center). During his career so far, he and his colleagues have traveled to every corner of his homeland, a land that is considered "a miniature Vietnam". Recalling the early days, the means of transportation were very difficult, there were business trips where he had to carry heavy machinery weighing tens of kilograms, walk kilometers of bumpy forest roads to meet ethnic minorities, to record images of people's lives. So tired, so hard but he said "it's worth it", journalists have to commit, have to throw themselves into life to "feel" and convey the most "real" footage to the audience.
Journalist Tuan Hung shared that in order to do a good job and serve the public, journalists must always improve their professional skills and have a strong political stance. Assigned to be in charge of and monitor information and propaganda on current events, culture, arts, sports, entertainment, and tourism in the areas under the responsibility of the department, journalist Tuan Hung participated in and produced high-quality news and articles promoting key political and cultural events of the province such as: Ha Long Carnival Program; traditional festival programs of the localities of Binh Lieu, Tien Yen, Ba Che, Cam Pha, Uong Bi; Residential Area Singing Festival; series of articles evaluating the achievements in economic, cultural, and social development of the province in implementing the Resolution of the Party Congress at all levels for the 2020-2025 term... In particular, the live broadcast program of the 60th anniversary of the province's founding was assigned by the province to the Provincial Media Center. For journalist Tuan Hung, directing the live broadcast of such a big event is not only a challenge but also a motivation. He coordinated with his colleagues to carry out the assigned tasks well, bringing the most beautiful images and atmosphere of the ceremony to the television audience.
During their working years, besides the advantages of inheriting family traditions and valuable experiences from previous generations, young journalists and reporters also encountered many difficulties, even facing "life and death" moments (journalist Do Giang once fell on a rocky mountain in Ha Long Bay at a height of 8m while taking photos of the bay), many times "skin and scales were peeled off" because of climbing hills, rocky waterfalls, countless occupational accidents with cameras and flycams falling... but young journalists and reporters determined to stick with it, complete their tasks, and continue writing the newspaper to follow in their fathers' footsteps.
Although coming from different backgrounds, everyone has a passion and love for journalism. The next generation of journalists are not only better trained from universities and professional schools, but during their careers, they also approach new working methods and ways of working in a multimedia convergence newsroom model, promote the application of information technology, produce in-depth news and articles to create effective communication effects and achieve achievements in the field of journalism. Many journalists have won high prizes in the National Press Awards, Press Awards of ministries, departments and branches as well as provincial press awards. Typically, journalist Minh Thu consecutively from 2020 to 2025 won the First Prize of the Quang Ninh Press Award; in 2020 and 2021 won the C Prize of the National Press Award on Party building; consecutively from 2021 to 2025 won the A Prize of the Quang Ninh Provincial Press Award on Party building; won the First Prize in the Contest for Composing Literary, Artistic, and Journalistic Works to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of Quang Ninh Province. Journalist Tuan Hung won the Gold Prize at the 42nd National Television Festival - 2025; First Prize at the Quang Ninh Journalism Award in 2022; First Prize at the Contest for Composing Literary, Artistic, and Journalistic Works to Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the Province...
Following in the footsteps of their fathers and brothers, generations of Quang Ninh journalists have always been absolutely loyal to the Party's revolutionary cause, continuing to affirm their mettle and steadfast spirit, constantly improving their professional skills and ethics, maintaining "clear eyes, sharp pens, and pure hearts", truthfully reflecting the issues of social life, worthy of the responsibility entrusted by the Party and the people, making worthy contributions to the development of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism and the development of the province and the country.
