Leaders of Thuong Trach commune report on socio -economic development after the merger
Thuong Trach Commune is a particularly difficult border area, newly merged from the old Tan Trach and Thuong Trach communes. The whole commune has more than 3,600 people, mainly Bru Van Kieu and Chut ethnic groups, the poverty rate is over 60%. Infrastructure is lacking, many villages do not have electricity or clean water; traffic is cut off during the rainy season.
However, in the first 6 months of 2025, the socio-economic situation of the commune has had positive changes: agricultural and forestry production has gradually formed a commodity area; some livestock and eco-tourism models have begun to show effectiveness. National defense and security have been maintained. National target programs have been implemented synchronously, gradually improving people's lives.

At the meeting, the departments and branches acknowledged the efforts and responsibility of local authorities in implementing the provincial-commune government model after July 1, 2025. Work related to the apparatus, personnel, headquarters, and working conditions was prepared synchronously, ensuring smooth operations from the first day of operating the new apparatus.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang praised the proactive and responsible spirit of Thuong Trach commune in adapting to the streamlined government model after the merger.
He emphasized: this is not only a change in organizational structure, but also an important shift in thinking and management methods. Commune-level authorities need to be built in a proactive, effective direction, truly close to the people, understanding the people, solving work on the spot on the basis of applying digital technology .

He suggested that Thuong Trach commune focus on building a socio-economic development plan suitable to practical conditions, paying special attention to the planning of forest types; at the same time, proactively reviewing difficulties and obstacles to promptly propose solutions. Along with that, it is necessary to carefully study current policies and regulations to develop solutions to support livelihoods, develop production, and gradually improve the lives of ethnic minorities.

He also requested the commune to soon complete documents and organize the Thuong Trach Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term before August 30, 2025.
In addition, the locality needs to continue to pay attention to supporting accommodation and food for cadres working in the commune, assigning tasks reasonably, encouraging cadres to stay in the village, grasp the situation at the grassroots level, contributing to maintaining stability and strengthening the trust of people in border areas.
On the provincial side, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council assigned relevant departments and branches to urgently review and integrate resources to invest in essential infrastructure such as grid electricity, clean water, transportation, public housing, and community centers; at the same time, promote sustainable livelihood support programs, creating motivation for people in the highlands to proactively and sustainably escape poverty.
