Proactive solutions to ensure adequate electricity supply during peak periods in 2025

Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, Ha Sy Dong, has just signed and issued a document requesting agencies, units and localities in the province to focus on implementing a number of key tasks to effectively implement Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 3, 2025 of the Prime Minister on proactive solutions to ensure adequate electricity supply for production, business and people's lives during peak periods in 2025 and the period 2026 - 2030.

Specifically, assign tasks to heads of departments, agencies, units, and localities to focus on implementing the task of providing enough electricity to serve socio-economic development in the 2025-2030 period, ensuring energy security, and identifying this as a particularly important political task.

At the same time, promote the highest sense of responsibility, concentrate all resources to promote and promptly complete power source and transmission projects within the scope of management of the unit. Absolutely do not let projects and works be stuck due to delays in local administrative procedures. Urgently and effectively implement the plan to implement the Power Plan VIII approved by the Prime Minister .

Requesting the Departments of Industry and Trade; Planning and Investment; Natural Resources and Environment; Construction; Agriculture and Rural Development; Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, according to their functions, tasks and management areas, to actively coordinate with investors of power projects, promptly remove difficulties and problems arising during the construction process, create favorable conditions for implementing investment and construction to ensure progress and operation of power projects.

For the Quang Tri - 340 MW combined cycle gas turbine project, the provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center will coordinate with the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, relevant departments, branches and localities to connect with Gazprom Group to soon organize a meeting with the Provincial People's Committee in February 2025 to discuss related contents to implement the project on schedule according to the set plan.

For power transmission grid projects implemented in the plan to implement Power Plan VIII, the Provincial People's Committee also assigned specific tasks to departments, branches, sectors and localities in monitoring, supporting and implementing site clearance work.

The Provincial People's Committee requires investors of power projects in the area to ensure operational efficiency for power source projects that have been put into operation and mobilize maximum power generation capacity during peak months of 2025; absolutely not to allow water shortages in hydroelectric reservoirs according to the reservoir operation process approved by competent authorities.

At the same time, focus on human and material resources, implement construction to ensure safety and quality of works for power source projects under investment.
