However, if there are any mistakes in the last minute registration or adjustments "one inch wrong, one mile wrong" can lead to undesirable results, or even complete loss of the chance of admission.
The online television consultation program organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper on the afternoon of July 25 with the theme "Before the deadline for registration of wishes, mistakes to avoid" provided a lot of important information and advice for candidates when there are only a few days left until the end of registration.
The program is broadcast online at: thanhnien.vn , Facebook fanpage, YouTube channel, TikTok Thanh Nien Newspaper.
ISSUES THAT CANDIDATES ARE CONCERNED ABOUT IN THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Participating in the program, Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, Permanent Deputy Director of Duy Tan University, said that in recent days, he has called or accessed the school's information channels to ask a lot about training majors, competition rates of majors, and majors close to his favorite major. Next, he asked for advice on training types such as standard, advanced, and joint programs... In addition, he is also interested in the school's scholarship and financial support policies.
"This year, there is a difference from previous years in that many PhDs also learn about the international learning environment, interacting with businesses... before registering their wishes (NV)", Dr. Hai informed.

Similarly, Master Cao Quang Tu, Director of Admissions at Saigon International University, said that recently, students have mainly focused on choosing a major, while parents tend to pay attention to their children's experiences during their four years at university. Therefore, many parents and students come to the school to learn about the facilities, learning environment, job opportunities after graduation, tuition and scholarship policies, etc.
REGISTERING YOUR WISHES: NEED TO COMPLETE 3 GROUPS
Note for the last days of registration and adjustment of NV for admission, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thanh Duong, Head of the Faculty of Engineering, Vietnam-Germany University, advises: "You should carefully consider whether you need to change NV or not. If you change your interest in a major, you should reorganize, prioritize the major, suitable school, and set the most desired major as NV 1".
Master Vo Ngoc Nhon, Deputy Director of the Admissions Consulting Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, commented that at this time, there are still many candidates who have not yet determined how to register for NV or are still hesitant. There are also students who have registered from the beginning but want to change the order or add NV.
"You should divide into 3 groups of candidates. The dream candidates group, the score of the candidate is lower than the previous year's benchmark; the feasible candidates group, is the score of the candidate is equivalent to the previous year's benchmark. Group 3 is the candidate who is sure to be admitted when their score is higher than the previous year's benchmark. It is best to complete the adjustment and registration in the morning of July 28, not until the last minute," Master Nhon noted.
Master Nguyen Do Tung, Executive Director of Van Hien University, also believes that if the candidate is certain, he should not change his NV. In case of change, he needs to consider carefully and arrange NV into 3 groups as above, he will certainly not lose the opportunity to be admitted.

HOW DOES THE REPORT GRADUATE SCORES CORRESPOND TO THE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION EXAM SCORES ?
Dr. Vo Thanh Hai informed that this year the Ministry of Education and Training has some new technical points to overcome limitations in enrollment, ensuring fairness for PhDs.
According to Dr. Hai, this year the difficulty of the exam is different, the methods are different, there is a difference between the transcript score and the high school exam score, so the Ministry of Education and Training has stipulated equivalent conversion scores to create fairness in admission. "At this time, all universities have announced the minimum admission score. Therefore, what you need to care about is whether your score exceeds the minimum score or not. If it does, then confidently register. Then the schools will calculate the standard score," Dr. Vo Thanh Hai advised.
Following the program, a PhD student asked: "I want to register for the artificial intelligence major at Duy Tan University. My A block exam score is 20 while my transcript score is 23.5. I don't understand how the conversion works. Based on my actual score, I hope the teachers can tell me about the results after the conversion and whether I have a chance of being admitted to this major or not?"
Dr. Vo Thanh Hai once again affirmed that this year the Ministry of Education and Training has made technical changes, accordingly using the percentile method to convert the admission scores in relation to the methods and combinations to overcome the limitations in the admission process, ensuring fairness for PhDs.
Registering the correct wishes will help candidates increase their chances of being admitted to their favorite major.

"According to the announcement of the Ministry of Education and Training, there is a difference in scores between the transcript score and the high school graduation exam score, from 0.12 - 2.26 corresponding to 12 subjects. In math, the difference is 2.25 points. A combination has at least 3 subjects, so the difference between the exam score and the transcript score is from 2, 3 or 4 points or more. In group A, the transcript score compared to the high school graduation exam score can differ by more than 4 points," Dr. Hai informed.
A candidate with IELTS 6.0 and 3 subjects D01 score of 18 points, wants to study one of the two majors of international economics and international relations at the University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City. The candidate is wondering whether studying these majors requires good English and with the above score, is it enough to be admitted?
Master Vuong Van Khoi, Deputy Director of the Admissions Consulting Center of the University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City, informed: "These two majors are both related to issues with foreign elements, requiring students to be good at foreign languages, extroverted, and have communication skills... The school trains 50% in English but does not require English input. When admitted, students will be trained in English in the curriculum".
According to Master Khoi, with this score, TS can feel completely secure when registering for both majors above and because he has an IELTS certificate, he will receive a scholarship and be exempted from English levels.
Meanwhile, a PhD asked: "This year, I see that the B block scores are low. With a score of 21, do I have a chance to pass the medical program? I only want to study majors related to medicine and pharmacy. I hope the teachers can advise me on how to arrange my NV."
Master Truong Quang Tri, Deputy Head of Admissions Department of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, answered: "The minimum score for the medical major of Nguyen Tat Thanh University based on the high school graduation exam score is 20.5, and the academic transcript score is 23. With this score, you have a chance to pass the medical major of the school. In addition, you can also register for other health majors such as pharmacy, medical laboratory technology, traditional medicine, nursing... If medicine is the major you want the most, then put it first, then the priorities in descending order."
Before the NV registration deadline, what TS needs to do
Pay fees, confirm admission
TS carefully checks the registered information, then tracks the timelines and tasks that need to be completed later such as: paying fees, confirming admission. At the same time, regularly monitor updated information from universities or Thanh Nien Newspaper.
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thanh Duong
Double check the NV
TS carefully checks the NV, in which the most desired major is placed at the top. Note that it is necessary to limit listening to information from unofficial sources, which can lead to inappropriate adjustments. You can find out more information about financial incentives from universities.

Choose what you like best and are best at
Be yourself, choose what you like best and what you are best at. If you can't find a narrow field, choose a broader field. For example, if you can't afford to go into economic law, you can consider business administration.
