Details of the 2026 Subaru Forester Wilderness off-road SUV, priced at over $38,000

Subaru has recently announced pricing for the 2026 Forester Wilderness off-road version. The car has a starting price of $38,385, an increase of $2,100 compared to the old version.

The 2026 Forester Wilderness is a comprehensive upgrade, featuring a powerful design and significantly improved off-road capabilities. The vehicle is equipped with a new front bumper, redesigned grille, underbody protection panels,...

Special fog lights and a matte decal on the hood reduce glare when operating in complex terrain conditions. The most notable point is the specialized suspension system that helps the ground clearance reach 236 mm, 15 mm higher than the standard version.

The car uses 17-inch matte black rims with all-terrain tires, improving obstacle-clearing parameters such as 23.5-degree approach angle, 25.5-degree departure angle and 21-degree breakover angle.

The exterior of the vehicle is also accented with anodized bronze trim, a ladder-style roof rack and a rear bumper with an integrated “SUBARU” logo.

The interior uses grey StarTex seats with bronze contrast stitching, bespoke trim and waterproof floor mats, creating a style that is both comfortable and practical.

Based on the Forester Premium platform, the Wilderness version still retains equipment such as 10-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, wireless phone charger, 11.6-inch central entertainment screen, 6-speaker sound system and sunroof.

In addition, customers can upgrade to a $2,200 equipment package that includes a GPS navigation system, a premium 11-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, and an electric tailgate.

Not only the Wilderness version, the entire 2026 Forester line also received some small upgrades in the cabin such as a new cup holder area that can hold a 32-oz water bottle, a larger armrest, a more compact gear lever, and a more convenient front storage compartment.

Despite the upgrades, Subaru has kept the starting price of $29,995 for the base Forester, except for a slight $1,450 increase in destination charges.

All 2026 Forester versions use a 2.5L 4-cylinder Boxer engine, producing 180 horsepower and 241 Nm of torque, combined with a CVT transmission and symmetrical all-wheel drive - a characteristic of the Subaru brand.
