Transformer fire in Ho Chi Minh City causes power outage for more than 100 households

A transformer tower in Binh Hung Hoa ward, Binh Tan district (HCMC) caught fire at dawn, causing many households to lose power.

At around 4am on March 8, the 22Kv medium voltage power line transformer tower in front of No. 60, Street No. 5, Binh Hung Hoa Ward (Binh Tan) suddenly caught fire.

Many explosions were heard along with a burning smell, waking up people in the area. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Binh Tan District Police arrived to control the fire when it had just spread to the advertising board of a business in the area.

Binh Phu Power Company staff have fixed the problem. The fire caused more than 100 households in the area to lose power.

"The unit will try to fix and reconnect the line to provide electricity to people as soon as possible," said an employee of Binh Phu Electricity Company.
