After Uzbekistan won 3-0 against Qatar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on June 10, the Uzbekistan government decided to give each player and coaching staff a BYD electric car as a reward for a ticket to the 2026 World Cup.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also signed a decision to award honorary medals to a number of players and coaching staff members after the historic achievement.
In the match on June 6, Uzbekistan officially got a ticket to the 2026 World Cup after a 0-0 draw with the UAE. After this match, many players of the Central Asian country, including captain Otabek Shukurov, burst into tears.
Uzbekistan finished second in Group A of the third qualifying round, joining Iran in qualifying for the finals in the United States, Canada and Mexico next year. The third- and fourth-placed UAE and Qatar, respectively, will continue their battle for World Cup qualification in the next round.

The 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026. This will be the first time that 48 national teams from 6 different confederations will compete.
