Dr. Hoang Le Minh was born in 1957 in Hanoi in a famous intellectual family. As a child, his family directed him to the Conservatory of Music to follow the career of his mother and sister, but an important decision by his father changed the life of the young Hoang Le Minh at that time. Accordingly, in 1970, Mr. Hoang Le Minh's father sent him to study Math with Mr. Ton Than, from which Mr. Minh gradually became passionate about Math.

After graduating from the Math class at Trung Vuong School, Hoang Le Minh took the entrance exam for the specialized math program at Hanoi National University. Later, due to the war, he had to evacuate. Although living and studying conditions were not as good as before, the young man still studied very hard.

In 1974, Hoang Le Minh, 17 years old, was selected for the team to compete in the IMO in Germany. He excellently achieved 38/40 points, bringing home the first gold medal for Vietnam and ranking 9th globally.

After winning the Gold Medal, Hoang Le Minh went to the Soviet Union to study at Lomonosov University. Here, he did research and worked with many famous research institutes in France, England, and Italy. During his time at the university, Mr. Minh achieved many achievements. In 1987, Hoang Le Minh's salary abroad was 2,000 USD/month. However, he decided to leave everything behind and return to Vietnam to contribute to the country.

Returning to Vietnam, Hoang Le Minh became a lecturer in the Mathematics Department at Ho Chi Minh City University of Science. In 2000, he joined a research group to help the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee build Quang Trung Software Park.

In 2001, he participated in the construction of the Software Technology Park Project of Ho Chi Minh City National University, and was then appointed as Director of this software technology park. He also held the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications of Ho Chi Minh City, and in 2008, he moved to Hanoi to become Director of the Vietnam Institute of Software Industry and Digital Content.
