The "Reply 1988" star couple broke up after 7 years of dating.

On the same day, Ryu Jun Yeol's management company C-JeS Studios and Hyeri's CREATIVE GROUP ING confirmed that the couple had "gone their separate ways", but did not reveal the specific reason.

Lee Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol became friends after co-starring in the hit TV series Reply 1988, released in 2015. In the series, Hyeri plays the female lead Duk Sun, who plays with a group of friends including Kim Jung Hwan (played by Ryu Jun Yeol). Jung Hwan is a good student, has a cold appearance, and secretly loves Duk Sun. At the end of the series, Duk Sun marries Chou Taek (played by Park Bo Gum), but in real life, Hyeri chooses Jun Yeol.

Hyeri and Jun Yeol went public with their relationship in August 2017, after more than a year of dating. During their 7 years together, the couple was quite secretive about their relationship, rarely appearing together at events. However, they always supported each other in life as well as in their careers. Therefore, the news of their breakup made many fans regret the beautiful love story of the two actors.
