Immigration Department receives applications for level 2 identification accounts for foreigners

In the first days of implementation, at the citizen reception point of the Immigration Department of Hue City Police, many foreigners came to apply for level 2 mobile phone accounts. In just a short time, more than 10 foreigners were guided to complete the necessary procedures. This is an important task to help foreigners easily carry out online administrative procedures such as banking transactions, registering to rent a house or accessing public services quickly, safely, minimizing paperwork and saving time.

Ms. Gole Irene, an English teacher at Dong Tay Edu Company Limited, shared: When coming to do procedures here, the police officers all worked quickly, conveniently, enthusiastically guided and created the best conditions. I personally feel very satisfied, this helps foreigners like me to protect their legal rights and interests while living and working in Vietnam.

According to information from Hue City Police, e-transaction for foreigners is an important step in the digitalization of administrative procedures, contributing to creating favorable conditions for foreigners to live, work and travel in Vietnam, in line with the goal of promoting digital transformation of the Government and the Ministry of Public Security .

Currently, the entire city has more than 100 foreigners who are eligible for level 2 mobile phone accounts. In order for the registration and issuance of level 2 mobile phone accounts for foreigners to take place quickly and smoothly, the Immigration Department of Hue City Police has fully prepared the conditions from selecting and arranging a team of officers proficient in foreign languages ​​to standardizing and shortening the implementation process from receiving documents. At the same time, closely coordinating with businesses, industrial parks and international organizations in the area to ensure that all eligible foreigners are granted mobile phone accounts, effectively serving the work of population management, creating convenience when performing transactions and administrative procedures in Vietnam.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Director of Snow Bricks Company Limited, Vice President of Hue FDI Club said: As a business sponsoring foreign workers, we actively guide this subject to contact the Immigration Department to be granted a level 2 mobile phone account.

“We also promote and share the utilities, procedures and processes for granting level 2 mobile phone accounts to foreigners by posting infographics on the club’s Facebook page so that many FDI enterprises can understand and implement them. During the implementation process, we received timely attention, support and guidance from the Immigration Department staff,” said Ms. Trang.

Ensure progress

According to the Immigration Department of Hue City Police, the level 2 mobile phone account is the "key" to help foreigners carry out administrative procedures, access and exploit information from national and specialized databases, as well as fully utilize the utilities of the electronic identification and authentication system according to regulations. This tool also supports the competent authority managing foreigners to quickly and accurately handle cases with foreign elements, contributing to ensuring security and order in the field of immigration.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Cong Tuan, Deputy Head of the Immigration Department of Hue City Police, said: “We have prepared the necessary conditions and actively promoted the benefits of level 2 mobile phone accounts for foreigners in the area to use public services and procedures in the electronic environment. Up to now, the unit has collected documents to issue mobile phone accounts for more than 85% of foreigners in the area and will continue to implement in the coming days.”

The implementation of issuing mobile phone numbers to foreigners has affirmed the determination of the Ministry of Public Security in general and the City Police in particular in the comprehensive digital transformation work, towards a transparent, modern administration and serving people and businesses more effectively. In addition, this activity also contributes to building the image of Vietnam and the homeland of Hue City as friendly, professional, internationally integrated, creating the most favorable conditions for foreign citizens to feel secure in studying, working and living long-term in Vietnam.
