Thunderstorm warning in Phu Tho province

According to the Phu Tho Province Hydrometeorological Station, from the evening of August 5, 2025 to the night and early morning of August 6, 2025, Phu Tho province will have showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 20 - 40mm, in some places over 100mm.

According to the forecast, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms. Warning of heavy rain in a short period of time (>50mm/3h) in the following localities: Minh Dai, Yen Lap, Thanh Son, Thanh Thuy, Doan Hung, Thanh Ba, Ha Hoa, Cam Khe, Tam Nong, Phong Chau, Phu Ninh, Lam Thao, Viet Tri, Vinh Yen, Phuc Yen, Lap Thach, Song Lo, Tam Duong, Vinh Tuong, Yen Lac, Tam Dao, Hoa Binh , Luong Son, Kim Boi, Cao Phong, Lac Thuy, Yen Thuy, Mai Chau, Da Bac, Lac Son, Tan Lac.

Localized heavy rain is forecast to cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes. Heavy rain in a short period of time overloads the urban drainage system, causing flooding in residential areas and traffic jams. Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, break trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.

From August 7, 2025, rain will decrease, with showers and thunderstorms in some places in the province.
