Where is Quan Lan Island?
Quan Lan is an island with a modest total area of just over 11km2, located on Bai Tu Long Bay in Van Don special zone, Quang Ninh province.
The island is surrounded by large and small mountains, towering high up to the sky. Quan Lan is blessed with long, spacious beaches, fine white sand, and clear blue water.
What is the best season to travel to Quan Lan?
The best time to travel to Quan Lan beach is in the summer, from April to the end of June. July and August are the beginning of the storm season, visitors need to pay attention to weather forecasts to avoid storms and tropical depressions when going to the island.

Move to Quan Lan
Departing from Hanoi , visitors can take a private car or sleeper bus, limousine to Ao Tien port (Van Don, Quang Ninh). Ticket prices range from 400,000 - 600,000 VND/person/round trip. The bus company has many continuous trips, visitors should proactively book tickets early and choose a suitable time.
At the port, visitors buy tickets for a speedboat to Quan Lan Island. There are two ports for everyone to choose from. One is Ao Tien - Quan Lan, ticket price is 400,000 VND/person/round trip, ticket through the port is 50,000 VND/person.
Travel time is about 1 hour. Second is Ao Tien - Minh Chau, ticket price is 360,000 VND/person/round trip, port ticket is 50,000 VND/person. Travel time is about 45 minutes.
Upon arriving at Quan Lan Island, for convenient travel on the island, visitors can rent a self-driving motorbike or an electric car for about 1,500,000 - 2,000,000 VND according to the schedule suitable for each group.
The motorbike rental price is 200,000 VND/day for manual transmission motorbikes, 250,000 VND/day for automatic transmission motorbikes, including half-day rental. All parties provide free delivery and pick-up at homestays and hotels.

What to do in Quan Lan?
After a tiring time at sea, visitors should rest a bit before sightseeing, swimming and taking photos. There are countless beautiful places on the island waiting for visitors to explore.
Quan Lan Beach, Minh Chau Beach, Son Hao Beach, Robinson Beach, Turtle Beach, Nude Beach, Love Rock Beach... are destinations not to be missed when you visit the island. With long stretches of fine white sand and clear blue water, these beaches still retain their beautiful wildness. Visitors can immerse themselves in the cool water or stroll along the beach, relaxing after stressful working days.

In addition, Eo Gio, Infinity Hill, Con Quy Port, Khe Luon Cave, wave-watching rapids, the dike road surrounding Mam Beach, the river with two white sand banks, the European grass field... are also sightseeing and check-in spots that attract tourists. Most of the entertainment and sightseeing spots on the island are free of charge.

What are Quan Lan specialties?
Quan Lan islanders are famous for their long tradition of fishing, and the seafood here is extremely fresh and delicious. Visitors can enjoy seafood right on the beach or at the huts after playing, but ask carefully about the price to avoid being "ripped off". Some quality seafood restaurants with public prices on the island are Tuan Tuyen, Tuyen Doan, Linh Thanh, Hai Yen, Amazing BBQ...
To save money, visitors can wake up early to go to the market to buy seafood, or go to the food stores opposite Quan Lan temple to cook for themselves. In particular, Quan Lan jellyfish cake is a must-try dish.

Notes when traveling to Quan Lan
The total cost of the 3-day, 2-night trip to Quan Lan Island, including delicious food and entertainment, was less than 3 million VND/person for Ms. Huyen's family. Of which, the bus and fixed train tickets were 850,000 VND/person round trip, homestay was 800,000 VND/person/2 nights, motorbike rental and gas for 2 days was 230/person. Food and drink were based on needs.
Note, there is no big gas station on Quan Lan island, you have to buy gas in bottles at the grocery store for 50,000 VND/1.5 liter bottle. The road to Eo Gio is quite dangerous, you need to move carefully, especially families with small children.
