Quang Nam FC has not officially announced its dissolution and is in the process of finding a new sponsor to continue participating in the professional playground in the new season. However, if the Quang Nam team has to withdraw from the V-League 2025-2026, the tournament will still have all 14 participating teams.
Cong Phuong and Binh Phuoc Club have a bright chance to be promoted to V-League
After receiving official dispatch 265/VPF-TCTĐ from VPF on the report proposing a plan if Quang Nam Club does not participate in the 2025-2026 tournament, including V-League, VFF agreed on a plan to arrange, adjust, supplement, and replace teams participating in national professional football tournaments in the 2025-2026 season.
Accordingly, if Quang Nam Club does not participate in the tournament, the club that will be chosen as a replacement will be a club with good achievements and rankings in the 2024-2025 National First Division and meeting the conditions for a license to participate in the V-League. This group includes Ninh Binh Club, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai (Binh Phuoc) and PVF-CAND.
Of which, Ninh Binh has secured a place in the V-League as the reigning champion of the First Division. Therefore, Binh Phuoc and PVF-CAND will be the two teams to be selected respectively.
Quang Nam is difficult to maintain
In case Binh Phuoc Club refuses to be promoted, PVF-CAND Club will be considered as a replacement. In case both clubs above refuse to be promoted, V-League 2025 - 2026 will remain as 13 teams participating in the tournament.
In case a team in the first division is promoted to play in the 2025-2026 V-League to replace Quang Nam Club (withdrawing from the tournament), it means that the 2025-2026 national first division tournament will also have to be adjusted.
VFF will base on the competition results of the 2025 national second division tournament, the 2 third-placed clubs of Group A and Group B will be added to compete in the national first division tournament with the condition that they must meet the regulations in the Vietnam Professional Football Regulations.
