Female pickleball player Jolie Lam's great progress at PPA Asia

Jolie Lam continued to make a name for herself when she won the U18 women's singles event at the PPA Asia Tour - Hong Kong Open 2025.

PPA Asia - Hong Kong Open 2025 ended without any Vietnamese tennis players winning any championship titles in the professional category. However, Jolie Lam (Lien Ngo Chung Thien Lam) was proud to be crowned champion in the U18 women's youth category.

Six promising young female players will compete to find the champion. Jolie Lam is the new World Pickleball Championship (WPC) women's doubles champion and is a highly rated candidate. She is also the Pickleball Asia Junior Open 2025 women's singles champion.

A strong physical foundation is the strength of the 17-year-old female athlete. She quickly showed her dominance from rounds 1 to 5 to gain an advantage over Kei Sawaki (Japan), Chung Ho Yan (Hong Kong), Hiu Lam Cheng (Hong Kong), Lee Chia Yi (Taiwan), and Pham An (Vietnam).

The overwhelming victory in the PPA Asia Tour Women's U18 category shows Jolie Lam's great potential. This is the first time the Ho Chi Minh City girl has participated in a tournament in the PPA Asia system.

Not only that, Jolie Lam also showed her maturity when she registered to participate in the professional content. Jolie Lam paired with her senior Ly Hoang Nam in the mixed doubles content. However, in the combination, both had to stop early in the round of 16 when they lost to Nicola and Lucas.

However, in the U18 mixed doubles event, Jolie Lam and her doubles partner reached the final. Unfortunately, she could not win the U18 championship double and only got a silver medal. However, it was Jolie's first success beyond the threshold at PPA Asia.

The female tennis player born in 2008 gradually affirmed her name in the U18 age group. With her ability and high prospects, Jolie Lam will certainly be a notable name when she turns professional.

Thien Lam has a long road ahead of her and promises to reap more success. Since switching from tennis to professional pickleball, Jolie has shown that it was the right choice.
