Successful removal of giant tumor from Cambodian patient's body

Xuyen A Hospital System has just successfully performed surgery to remove a giant tumor that had been lingering in the body of a Cambodian patient for more than 10 years, thereby opening up a new life for the patient after many years of self-consciousness due to illness.

The tumor, measuring up to 20x20cm, grew larger and larger in his back over time, causing Mr. SP, a Cambodian national, to live with pain and inferiority for over 10 years.

After examination at Xuyen A Tay Ninh General Hospital, doctors determined that this was a benign lesion in subcutaneous fat tissue. However, the tumor caused prolonged pain and seriously affected the patient's life.

After the surgery, the doctors successfully removed the entire tumor weighing nearly 1.5 kg. After the surgery, Mr. SP is recovering actively and has been discharged from the hospital to return to normal life.

Master, Doctor Nguyen Hoang Cuong, Deputy Head of Orthopedic Trauma Department, Xuyen A Tay Ninh Hospital said: "This is a special case in terms of expertise because the tumor is large in size, has existed for many years and has complex adhesions to surrounding tissues, so it requires meticulousness and carefulness in each operation to avoid complications."
