At the award ceremony, authorized by the Head of the Steering Committee 1389 of the Ministry of National Defense and the Party Committee and Command of the Border Guard, Major General Nguyen Van Thien awarded the collective of the Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station and the collective of the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard, for their outstanding achievements in fighting the case of illegal gold transportation across the border on April 17, 2025 at Mong Cai International Border Gate.

The incident occurred at around 11:00 a.m. on April 17, 2025, at the border gate, officers and soldiers of the Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station discovered that Pham Thi Van Anh (born in 1984, residing in Tra Co, Mong Cai, Quang Ninh ) was hiding 4 gold-colored metal bars (total weight of 4kg) on ​​her person but did not declare it to customs. Through investigation, the subject confessed that the 4 gold-colored metal bars were gold; the subject was hired to transport them from China to Vietnam. The Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station has completed the dossier and coordinated with the competent authorities to handle the case in accordance with the law.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Major General Nguyen Van Thien commended, acknowledged and congratulated the outstanding achievements in fighting the case of illegal gold transportation across the border of officers and soldiers of Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard in general and Mong Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station in particular.

Major General Nguyen Van Thien noted that in the coming time, the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command of Quang Ninh province will focus on leading and directing agencies and units to heighten vigilance, continue to grasp the local situation, proactively fight, prevent and combat all types of crimes early and from afar; thereby proposing policies and plans to solve cases appropriately and effectively, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects.

Major General Nguyen Van Thien emphasized that agencies and units need to strengthen patrolling and control of border areas and sea areas; synchronously implement border protection measures, and resolutely prevent "hot spots" from occurring in the area.

The unit focuses on coordinating well with forces in the fight against all types of crimes; promoting propaganda and mobilizing the masses in the area, raising people's awareness and understanding; coordinating with local Party committees and authorities to perfect mechanisms and policies to create jobs, improve the material and spiritual life of people in border and island areas, in order to minimize the causes and conditions for crime.

Along with that, the unit focuses on doing a good job of political education, building cadres and soldiers with strong political will, proficient in professional skills, ready to receive and complete well all assigned tasks.
