"Sexy icon" Y Phung has just shared her emotional story about the past 5 years when she had to sacrifice her career to take care of her daughter. From an artist who once caused controversy with her daring performances, Y Phung is now a devoted mother, silently raising her child.
"5 years of sacrificing my career, missing many great opportunities to stay home and take care of my child. Little joy, much sadness," Y Phung confided on her personal page.
Y Phung is the daughter of the cai luong artist couple Minh Phung - Kieu Tien. She shared that "she grew up with the stage lights and the applause of the audience when she was still a drop of blood in her mother's womb". Therefore, being away from the stage for the past 5 years has been a huge sacrifice for her.

When taking her daughter to the TV station to film a music video, Y Phung had special feelings. "I was running around to take care of my daughter's performance in front of the camera, doing her hair, and dressing her. I remember the image of myself in the past, my parents and a few maids taking care of me like that. Thinking back, I feel so sorry for my parents. They must love their children and their jobs very much to endure such hardship," she emotionally shared.
During the 6 hours on set, little Paris "did not feel tired, sang and danced enthusiastically on stage" making Y Phung proud. "I silently thank my ancestors for giving my family another silkworm to continue their career," she wrote on Facebook.
After settling in the US, Y Phung's life changed a lot. She switched to singing bolero music, which is more suitable for overseas audiences. However, the stage in a foreign country is not lit up every night like in Vietnam, which makes her miss her job more than ever.

Currently, Y Phung's greatest joy is her daughter Paris. She describes her daughter as a gentle, easy-to-cry and emotional child: "When she sees me sick or having a headache, she hugs me and cries. During her two years in kindergarten, she was awarded a certificate of merit for helping her classmates." In particular, Paris shows her innate artistic talent when she "loves singing and taking pictures."
Regarding her return to showbiz, Y Phung once admitted to VietNamNet that she had a beauty crisis after giving birth: "I received many invitations from organizers and filmmakers in Vietnam and overseas, but I am too fat and ugly. I do not allow myself to be ugly when I return to the profession." However, she affirmed: "When I get my old figure back, I will return to the profession. I will follow this profession for the rest of my life."
