This year, the 16th Red Sunday will take place from November 2023 to the end of March 2024 in 45 provinces and cities nationwide. This is the number of registrations as of December 12 and may continue to increase.
The main festival of Red Sunday opens on December 24, at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Red Sunday 2024 is expected to mobilize more than 100,000 participants and receive about 45,000 - 50,000 units of blood.

Before the main national festival, from November 2023, Red Sunday 2024 has organized a number of kick-off events. To date, there have been 7 blood donation points, receiving 2,756 units of blood, exceeding the planned progress by 456 units of blood.
At the press conference, journalist Le Xuan Son, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Head of the Red Sunday Organizing Committee, shared that Red Sunday has been persistently organized for 15 consecutive years, achieving two major goals: mobilizing a large amount of blood needed to treat patients and contributing to the development of an increasingly strong voluntary blood donation movement nationwide. That is the program's greatest success.
“Among the many good deeds that each person can do in life, there is no action more noble than extending one’s arm to give a drop of red blood, to give the warmth of sharing. It is the strength of community solidarity and the dedication of many agencies and units that have turned Red Sunday from a small blood donation event into a large, prestigious volunteer movement that is increasingly spreading in society,” emphasized journalist Le Xuan Son.
