The project consists of 3 blocks: A, B and C, in which block A is used as Cao Van Lau Theater, serving the performance of Cai Luong and Don Ca Tai Tu. By April 2025, the remaining two blocks will be officially put into operation with a new function: Ca Mau Provincial Museum in Bac Lieu area, opening a large-scale exhibition space, serving traditional education and promoting local culture and history .
The building block shaped like three of the largest conical hats in Vietnam is recognized as a typical tourist destination of the Mekong Delta.
With an area of nearly 2,000 m², the museum's exhibition space includes the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors of block B and the 2nd floor of block C, displaying 10 major themes. Entering the museum, the 1st floor displays themes about the history of formation, administrative boundaries, and natural environment of the province; the 2nd floor is a unique cultural space of the 3 ethnic groups Kinh - Khmer - Hoa; the 3rd floor displays documents and artifacts about the revolutionary struggle, contributing to national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.
Central and provincial leaders visited the cultural and historical exhibition area at the Ca Mau Provincial Museum in Bac Lieu area.
Mr. Tran Van Quang, an officer of Bac Lieu University, emotionally shared: “Visiting the Provincial Museum, I understand more about the land and people here, feel very proud of the heroic history and traditional cultural beauty of the three ethnic groups Kinh - Khmer - Hoa. I will introduce this attractive destination to friends in many provinces and cities, so that they have the opportunity to visit and research”.
Not just a place to preserve relics, the museum is also an open learning center for students and local people. With modern display methods, integrated multimedia projection, electronic explanations and interactive experience areas, this place promises to become an attractive destination for extracurricular programs, traditional education and tourism.
Many tourists visit the museum on weekends.
Ms. Phan Thi Ngoc Mai, a museum guide, said: “When coming to the Ca Mau Provincial General Museum, visitors can directly experience and learn about valuable documents and artifacts through digital space. This form helps visitors feel the diversity, modernity and find it more interesting, especially for students.”
With the strong application of digital technology , the Ca Mau Provincial Museum in Bac Lieu area has become the first digital museum in the Mekong Delta region. Not only visiting through artifacts, visitors are also provided with more information about the land and people of Ca Mau using 4.0 technology. The system of artifacts, documents, maps and images are collected, meticulously restored, combined with projection technology, creating vivid visual effects, serving well for the purpose of education, learning and research.

“When visiting the digital museum, I find it easier to absorb knowledge and understand more about the traditional culture and history of the land where I was born and raised,” said young man Dang Dan Thanh, Bac Lieu ward.
Putting the Ca Mau Provincial Museum in Bac Lieu area into operation not only contributes to preserving heritage, but also plays an important role in connecting the region's cultural destinations, promoting sustainable tourism development, bringing new vitality to the spiritual life of local people.
