According to TweakTown , the Radeon RX 7900 XT was released 13 months ago with an initial price of $899, which means the price of this GPU has now dropped by $150 and even lower in some cases. This price also paves the way for AMD to launch a new graphics card to compete with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, which has a suggested price of $799.
AMD officially reduces Radeon RX 7900 XT price to $749
Nvidia is also reportedly testing the GeForce RTX 4070 Super, a GPU that costs around $599 but can almost match the Radeon RX 7900 XT in fast-paced games. Perhaps AMD has decided to prepare for the launch of the more powerful GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, which will be available on January 24, so the price of the Radeon RX 7900 XT has officially dropped to $749.
AMD was initially unsuccessful with the Radeon RX 7900 XT due to its high price tag relative to the performance it offered. Four months after its launch, AMD dropped the price of the card from $899 to $799, and even dropped it to $699 for a few weeks as part of a temporary promotion that was run by many retailers and was limited to certain versions of the RX 7900 XT.
Given the card’s lack of popularity with buyers, AMD’s price drop to $749 shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. In some cases, VideoCardZ notes, buyers can even find cheaper models, with the ASRock Phantom Gaming, for example, the cheapest Radeon RX 7900 XT, currently selling for $710 on Newegg.
AMD has also decided to reduce the price of the Radeon RX 7900 GRE from $649 to $549. This is a GPU that is not officially distributed as a separate product, but is only available as part of pre-built gaming PC systems and through system integrators. However, many stores ignore this restriction of AMD and sell the card separately. It has more graphics cores than the Radeon RX 7800 XT but has the same video memory of 16 GB.
