Attending the workshop were comrades: Nguyen Khoa Diem, former member of the Politburo , former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Head of the Central Ideology and Culture Commission; Nguyen Chi Tai, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City; Associate Professor, Doctor Tran Duc Cuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, along with many scientists, researchers, and leaders from many prestigious academic centers, universities, and research institutes nationwide.
In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Chi Tai emphasized that 80 years have passed, but the values of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 remain intact, becoming a great driving force for the development of the country and Hue City. Hue City currently has 8 heritages recognized by UNESCO, more than 200 relics ranked at all levels, 8 national intangible heritages, 5 public museums and 4 non-public museums, 14 artifacts/groups of artifacts recognized as national treasures. The Complex of Hue Monuments, a world cultural heritage, is gradually transforming from a state of "urgent rescue" to "stability and sustainable development".

Currently, Hue city is striving to develop to be worthy of its role as a centrally-governed city, building its position as a typical Festival City of Vietnam, ASEAN Cultural City, National Green City, etc. At the same time, it is constantly improving the investment and business environment, focusing on economic and social development, and improving the quality of life of the people.
“Researching and reviewing the historical values of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 is not only an opportunity to review the heroic past and show gratitude to previous generations, but also a valuable lesson for Hue city to continue to develop faster and more sustainably in the future,” Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai affirmed.
The conference gathered more than 40 papers submitted by researchers, scientists, leaders, lecturers and researchers from many agencies and units across the country. Based on the process of reviewing and selecting contents suitable for the scientific orientation of the conference, the Organizing Committee selected 33 reports with high professional quality to be published in the proceedings.

The presentations focused on three main groups of topics: Historical significance and lessons learned from the August Revolution of 1945; Hue in the August Revolution of 1945; The role of forces and organizations in Hue in the August Revolution of 1945.
According to Dr. Phan Tien Dung, Chairman of the Hue City Historical Science Association, the workshop aims to create an academic forum for leaders, scientists, researchers, and lecturers to discuss and clarify scientific issues related to the historical significance and contemporary values of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. At the same time, it contributes to summarizing lessons learned and affirming sustainable values that can be applied in the current cause of national construction and defense.
