On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day,the President decided to award the Military Exploit Order and the Fatherland Protection Order to 34 senior military officers with outstanding achievements in the cause of building the Army, strengthening national defense and protecting the Fatherland.

General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, awarded the Third Class Military Exploit Order to 10 leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, and the General Department of Politics .

Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense awarded the First, Second and Third Class Fatherland Protection Medals to 24 commanding officers of agencies and units.

General Phan Van Giang congratulated 34 senior officers who received medals. These are noble awards from the Party and State, demonstrating the care, trust, encouragement, and recognition of the merits and achievements of senior officers of the Army. They are a great honor for the individual officers who received medals, and also a common joy for the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and officers and soldiers of the entire army.

Today's medal awarding ceremony is even more meaningful as there are only 9 days left until the 80th Anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th Anniversary of the National Defense Day, an opportunity to review the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam Army, a revolutionary army that has overcome all hardships and sacrifices, achieved many resounding victories, achieved brilliant achievements, and remained faithful to its oath of loyalty to the Party and devotion to the people, completing every task, overcoming every difficulty, and defeating every enemy.

The Vietnam People's Army has continuously grown and developed, always demonstrating the mettle of a revolutionary army, born from the people, fighting for the people, worthy of being a special political force, an absolutely loyal and trustworthy fighting army of the Party, State and people.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized that high-ranking leaders of the Army must be especially exemplary, truly set an example, constantly strive to improve themselves, to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation, and make worthy contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and our people in the new era - the era of national growth.
