Nurturing knowledge, empowering the future
Right from its first years in Vietnam, LG has placed education as one of the top priorities in its community contribution activities. In 1999, LG became one of the first brands to accompany "Road to Olympia" - a television program with the mission of inspiring learning for students across the country. During its 15 years of broadcasting, the program has lit up thousands of dreams, empowering young Vietnamese talents on their journey to conquer knowledge.
The Road to Olympia has inspired millions of students across the country to study.
Not stopping there, LG also continuously implements scholarship programs, sponsors teaching equipment and upgrades facilities for many disadvantaged schools nationwide. Typically, in 2024, through the campaign "Spreading positivity, Spreading smiles", LG not only fuels the spirit of the young generation but also donates 17 LG TVs to the Community House project, schools in remote areas, etc.
Join hands for a green Vietnam
In its journey to create a better future, LG is always a pioneer and active in environmental activities – from practical actions such as planting trees and collecting waste to long-term projects.
On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, LG has launched the LG Ambassador Challenge 2025 program in Vietnam for the first time to seek initiatives focusing on three core areas according to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Poverty Eradication, Quality Education and Climate Action. The first project - "Nurturing Green Seeds, Sowing Sweet Honey" was just launched last July.
Mr. Song Ikhwan and LG Electronics Vietnam staff participated in tree planting activities at Ben En National Park.
Through the project, LG donated and participated in planting 600 green Lim trees, a tree endemic to Thanh Hoa province, for Ben En National Park to green the degraded hills. Along with that, the enterprise continued to donate 100 beekeeping houses to create sustainable livelihoods for local people.
Connect, share and accompany the community
On its 30-year journey, LG has also left a deep mark in community support activities. From projects accompanying SOS Children's Villages (2013), organizing "Love Cinema" (2014) to sponsoring surgeries for children with congenital disabilities through Operation Smile Foundation (2020), LG has continuously extended its arms of sharing.
The "Village of Hope" project has helped many households have solid houses, so they can work with peace of mind.
"Hope Village" - a cooperation project between LG and Habitat Vietnam - is one of the typical community activities, continuously implemented for 4 years (2020-2023). During the period of 2020-2022, the project helped improve the living conditions of nearly 33,000 people with a total budget of up to 3.7 billion VND. In 2023 alone, LG sponsored the construction and renovation of 12 houses, supported 15 households to repair sanitation areas and build a community toilet in Hoa Binh province, with a total budget of nearly 1.5 billion VND.
As one of the 12 households sponsored to repair their houses, Ms. Bui Thi Loan (Chua hamlet, Tu Ne commune, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province) emotionally shared: " I am very grateful to LG and Habitat for creating conditions to help my family have a solid house like today. Thanks to that, my husband and I can go to work with peace of mind, without having to worry about the rain and wind every day."
Ms. Bui Thi Loan presented flowers of thanks to Mr. Song Ikhwan at the event celebrating LG's 30th anniversary in Vietnam.
At the same time, LG also actively supports the community both spiritually and materially through many creative and humane forms. In 2022, LG joined Thanh Nien newspaper to launch the program "Spreading kindness - Shining together, Radiant Vietnam" to honor courageous examples across the country. In the same year, LG also joined hands with the Vietnam Baseball and Softball Federation in the period 2022-2025, contributing to investing in training facilities and promoting the development of this new sport in Vietnam.
Mobile laundry stations help people clean clothes and blankets after storms and floods
Every rainy season, LG deploys free laundry stations to help people clean clothes and blankets after natural disasters, and applies a special warranty policy to inspect and repair damaged LG appliances. Recently, LG donated 40 TVs to households affected by Typhoon Yagi in Yen Bai, and installed 24 new generation air conditioners at frontline hospitals to improve treatment conditions and provide a better patient care environment.
Three decades of development in Vietnam is a memorable journey, not only measured by numbers, but by thousands of moments shared with the community. For LG, this journey is just the beginning of a deeper commitment - creating a better life every day for Vietnamese people, true to the motto "Life's Good" that LG always pursues.
