Speaking at the opening of the conference, Professor - Doctor - Doctor Truong Quang Binh - President of the Vietnam Atherosclerosis Association, emphasized: "We are living in a period when our understanding of the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis is increasingly profound, with many new approaches to treatment and risk control. This conference is not only an opportunity to update scientific advances, but also an opportunity to share, debate and connect to contribute to promoting clinical practice towards individualization and evidence-based".
Following the success of the previous two conferences, this year's event included 24 parallel thematic sessions, focusing on key issues in the management of atherosclerosis: from inflammatory mechanisms, genetic factors, lipidology to blood pressure control strategies, approaching high-risk patients and applying technology in vascular imaging.
A highlight of this year's conference was the session on "The role of inflammation in atherosclerosis", where new evidence on the mechanism of inflammation was presented as a potential "key" to open new treatment approaches. Here, experts shared outstanding data from international studies such as CANTOS, COLCOT, CLEAR... showing the effectiveness of anti-inflammatory therapies in reducing cardiovascular events independent of cholesterol levels.
Equally interesting are the contents related to the new generation of lipid-regulating drugs, in which PCSK9 inhibitors, ANGPTL3 inhibitors or injectable combination drugs are expected to change the long-term approach for patients who are intolerant to statins or have difficulty controlling blood lipids with classical regimens.
Dr. Tran Hoa, General Secretary of the Vietnam Atherosclerosis Association, shared about the role of connecting and spreading knowledge at the conference.

We especially appreciate the participation of experts from the international and Korean atherosclerosis associations, strategic partners in updating and transferring the latest treatment guidelines."
In addition to expertise, the conference also provides space for the voices of patients themselves, authentic sharing from the treatment journey to help experts better understand the expectations, difficulties and impacts of each regimen on quality of life...
