First 2 days of September 2nd holiday: Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Da Nang see an explosion in the number of tourists

According to SGGP reporters in the Back Beach area (Vung Tau ward, Ho Chi Minh City ) on the afternoon of August 31, the weather was sunny, the sea water was clear, the waves were gentle, so there were many tourists coming to play and swim. The highlight of this year's September 2nd holiday is the newly renovated Back Beach park, with open space and clean beach; tables, chairs, and umbrellas are arranged reasonably, creating an open space for people and tourists to access the sea from many points.

According to the Vung Tau Tourist Management and Support Center, in the first two days of the holiday, the beaches in Vung Tau ward welcomed about 95,000 visitors, with about 75,000 visitors on August 31 alone. Coastal rescue work was ensured to be safe; the environment was clean and airy. Due to the large number of visitors, room rates increased 2-3 times compared to normal days, concentrated in the Back Beach area. At the same time, the area is also preparing to put into operation the Tam Thang highlight project with an investment capital of nearly 155 billion VND, attracting a large number of tourists to check-in and take souvenir photos.

In Hue City , on August 31, the number of visitors to the Complex of Hue Monuments increased 2-3 times compared to normal days. In addition to visiting the monuments, tourists also visit community tourism spots, Tam Giang lagoon and experience traditional cuisine .

According to the Hue City Department of Tourism, the total number of tourists during the holiday is estimated at 196,000, an increase of nearly 51% over the same period in 2024; including about 23,000 international visitors (an increase of nearly 44%). Tourism service revenue reached about 310 billion VND, an increase of nearly 135%. The number of guests staying reached about 92,000; the average room occupancy rate was 72%, especially from August 31 to September 2, many establishments reached over 85%. Along with the peak tourist season, Hue also organizes many art programs, street festivals, heritage experience activities, etc. These "plus points" contribute to making Hue the top choice for tourists during the holiday.

Transportation in Hue also recorded strong growth. According to Mr. Pham Xuan Son, General Director of Hue Bus Station Joint Stock Company, the number of passengers passing through the stations increased by 20%-30% compared to normal days, reaching 5,000-6,000, mainly visitors from neighboring provinces coming to visit.

In Da Nang City, Da Nang Station serves about 5,000 passengers/day, an increase of 40% compared to normal days and an increase of 3%-5% compared to the same period in 2024. In addition to 8 regular train pairs, the railway industry has added a pair of SE17-SE18 trains on the Hanoi - Da Nang route during peak days. The elderly and war invalids receive a 30% discount on ticket prices. Mr. Doan Kim Tuan, Captain of the Passenger Transport Team, Da Nang Railway Transport Branch, said that ticket prices this year increased by about 5% compared to last year, depending on the route. At Da Nang Central Bus Station, the number of passengers has increased sharply, with an average of about 600 vehicles departing each day, serving thousands of passengers. Mr. Vo Quoc Dung, Head of the Service Security Department of Da Nang Central Bus Station, said: "The number of tickets issued increased by 30%-40% compared to last year."
