Building an overpass on National Highway 1, connecting to Phan Thiet Expressway

On October 18, Mr. Dang Hung Thai, Director of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway Management Board, said that the Ministry of Transport has approved the construction of an overpass at the Ba Bau intersection on National Highway 1 (QL1) to supplement the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway project.

Ba Bau intersection connects National Highway 1 with Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway.

Accordingly, the design solution for Phan Thiet intersection is to add a right turn from the highway with a length of 1.2km. The scale is two lanes, the road surface is 7m wide, the right shoulder is 3m wide and the left shoulder is 1m wide.

For the intersection connecting to National Highway 1 (Ba Bau intersection), it is adjusted to an intersection with four branches entering and exiting National Highway 1 from the connecting route and the new Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh route (expressway connecting road), each branch has two lanes.

Build an overpass on National Highway 1 with four lanes, arrange a roundabout under the overpass and expand the existing Suoi Sop bridge.

Add some service roads with rural traffic scale and add horizontal and vertical drainage systems.

Previously, the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province proposed to build an additional overpass at Ba Bau intersection to relieve traffic conflicts.

The solution proposed by this province is to soon invest in building an overpass on National Highway 1, the section passing through Ba Bau intersection (at Km1717+593, Ham Kiem commune).

At the same time, open a right turn branch road, in the direction from Dau Giay to Phan Thiet before reaching Ba Bau intersection, to regulate the flow of vehicles entering and exiting the highway for safer and more convenient travel.
