Mr. Le Van Hung, Head of the Department of Culture and Society , Long Phieng Commune, said: Long Phieng is a border commune after the merger with 7 school units, including 2 kindergartens, 3 primary schools and 2 secondary schools with 2,682 students. In preparation for the new school year, the People's Committee of the commune established a working group to inspect and grasp the situation of school facilities, classrooms, teaching equipment; propagate and mobilize families to send their children to school, especially in mountainous areas and villages with difficult traffic conditions, to prevent students from dropping out of school.
The commune has directed schools that organize boarding meals to establish budget requirements for meals and purchase cooking equipment to submit to competent authorities for approval. Do a good job of socialization to complete and upgrade boarding meals, purchase essential cooking equipment for students right from the beginning of the school year. Strictly implement regulations to ensure food hygiene and safety in boarding meals.
These days, Long Phieng B Primary School has a clean and tidy campus; the classrooms resound with the students' voices spelling... Taking us to visit the classrooms, teacher Luong Van Hoa, the school's principal, introduced: The school has 12 classes, implementing a 2-session/day teaching program, with a total of 302 students. There are 27 staff and teachers, of which the school has 100% of teachers specializing in the subjects of English, Information Technology, Fine Arts, Music, and Physical Education. The school has implemented Vietnamese enrichment classes for first-graders since August 4.
From the beginning of August, Long Phieng B Primary School organized parent meetings for each class, guiding parents to buy school supplies and books for students entering the new school year. Regarding the classrooms, ensuring to meet the needs of each class of 30-34 students.
In the new school year, implementing the policy of the Ministry of Education and Training on organizing boarding meals for students in border areas, however, the school does not have the budget or kitchen, so the school temporarily asks parents to bring lunch to class and let their children have lunch at school. The school arranges a kitchen area, a multi-purpose hall and calls for social resources to prepare enough bunk beds for boarding students to take naps. In the long term, when the State provides funding, the school will organize boarding meals at school.
At Son Ca Kindergarten, teachers met and deployed the new school year's contents. This school year, the school has 33 staff and teachers. They are responsible for teaching 16 groups of classes, at the central school and 10 satellite schools. The school directed teachers at the schools to coordinate with the village management board and parents to clean the school and classrooms; decorate the classroom grounds to welcome children.
Teacher Tran Thi Thanh Hoa, Principal of the school, said: In joy before the new school year, the school has connected with volunteer organizations to build 2 classrooms, a public house and a boarding kitchen for students in Na Mua village, with a total cost of more than 1.3 billion VND. In addition, the school has received many teaching equipment, school supplies and outdoor toys from volunteer groups for students at Na Mua and Co Chia village schools. Construction of a clean water facility to ensure child nutrition at the central school and To Quynh village school. Currently, preparations for the opening ceremony have been completed and are ready to enter the new school year.
In addition to Son Ca Kindergarten, there are 3 other schools in the commune: Hoa Dao Kindergarten, Long Phieng B Primary School and Long Phieng Secondary School, which have been invested in repairing classrooms, boarding kitchens, student housing and auxiliary works, with a total cost of more than 5 billion VND.
With careful preparation, consensus and determination of both teachers and students, we believe that the 2025-2026 school year will bring many good results, contributing to improving the quality of education in the border commune of Long Phieng.
