Techcombank scored a double at WFIS 2025 with two prestigious technology awards, affirming its pioneering role in regional innovation and cybersecurity.

At the “World Financial Innovation Network - Vietnam 2025” (WFIS 2025) Forum, Techcombank was the only bank to be honored with 2 out of 9 awards, affirming its pioneering position in technological innovation in the domestic and regional markets. The two awards were presented to two senior technology leaders of Techcombank, including “IT Maestro Of The Year” for Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chief Information Officer (CIO), and “Cyber ​​Practitioner Of The Year” for Mr. Van Anh Tuan - Senior Information Security Officer (CISO).

The two technology awards at WFIS 2025 given to two senior technology leaders of Techcombank are not only personal recognition, but also a testament to the technological capabilities that Techcombank has pioneered in leading the digital transformation journey of the bank over the past time. Along with that is a clear strategy when Techcombank puts technology as the engine of growth, and takes AI as the pillar to reach regional level.

WFIS 2025 is one of the annual technology forums, gathering nearly 500 senior experts from financial institutions, banks, technology companies and leading experts in the field of Fintech. Through the discussion sessions, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan and Van Anh Tuan shared practical experiences about the digital transformation journey at Techcombank with many remarkable achievements.

More than 90% of systems are deployed automatically, reflecting the high level of application of Development – ​​Security – Operations, with a significantly improved test automation rate, allowing for shorter product development cycles while ensuring system quality and safety. At the same time, nearly 97% of technology projects have at least one successful release per month, up 29.5% compared to 2023 – a figure that shows the rate of continuous improvement that few financial institutions can achieve. These improvements are the foundation for a flexible, modern technology infrastructure that serves millions of customers efficiently and securely.

Not only stopping at improving operations, Techcombank is also a pioneer in applying AI to core banking activities. Under the leadership of Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, the bank has built a central AI platform with the ambition to become the first bank in Vietnam to apply AI comprehensively, from risk management, operations, to customer experience.

Sharing more about this goal, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - CIO of the bank affirmed: "Techcombank is developing a Generative AI platform according to international standards, expected to be completed by mid-2026 - considered one of the most modern systems in Southeast Asia. We are pursuing a data-driven growth approach, evaluating new customers, new market segments and new partners at a micro level - ensuring that every decision we make helps provide better value and service to customers as well as optimize long-term benefits for the Bank and its stakeholders."

Over the past year, the bank has leveraged its industry-leading AI-based marketing platform to deliver financial management advice, product recommendations, and personalized marketing messages to millions of unique customers. In 2024 alone, Techcombank personalized more than 1.2 billion AI-based messages, helping to accurately match customer needs and behaviors with appropriate financial solutions – through the Techcombank Mobile digital banking application and service touchpoints. Digital engagement rates have increased sharply, with more than 91% of individual transactions conducted online – placing Techcombank among the banks with the highest digital customer engagement rates in the world . On average, each customer logs into the application up to 55 times per month – an indicator of strong customer relationships and trust in the bank.

Also in 2024, the bank pioneered strong investment in technology and security to help authenticate customer identification and update biometrics according to the State Bank's regulations on online payment security and bank card payments. This demonstrates the bank's efforts and initiative in seeking and providing modern technology solutions, contributing to the health of digital transaction spaces.

To achieve these results, Techcombank has focused on investing in high-quality technology human resources. Since 2020, the proportion of employees working in the fields of technology, digitalization and data at the bank has tripled. This group currently accounts for 15% of the total number of employees, and Techcombank continues to aim to increase this number to 25% within the next 5 years. This strategy is not only to promote internal capacity, but also to shape Techcombank as an attractive technology destination in the financial industry for talents.

In the field of cybersecurity - a key factor in sustainable digital transformation - Mr. Van Anh Tuan and his colleagues have established a solid Zero Trust information security model, operating according to the main NIST standards, combining AI-based risk analysis tools, comprehensive security training for employees... These efforts not only help Techcombank ensure information security, user data security, and create trust for customers at every transaction touchpoint. "Digital transformation cannot be successful without peace of mind. Cybersecurity is not only a line of defense, but also a foundation for innovation to develop sustainably," Mr. Van Anh Tuan emphasized.

The award “Cyber ​​Practitioner Of The Year – Best Cyber ​​Security Expert of the Year” goes to Mr. Van Anh Tuan - Senior Director of Information Security (CISO).

As a result, in 2024, Techcombank was honored with consecutive technology and cybersecurity awards. These include the 2024 Fortress Cybersecurity Award for products and services - cloud computing security, presented by Business Intelligence Group. Also within the framework of the award ceremony, Mr. Van Anh Tuan, the bank's technology leader, was recognized as "Outstanding Leader". In the same year, The Asian Banker honored Techcombank in the "Best Cloud Platform Application" category for the bank's efforts on the transformation journey. Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan was also honored to be included in the list of leading technology experts in the Asia- Pacific region.
