
At 0:00 on July 26, two passenger cars departed from Lao Cai Province Central Bus Station, this time the destination was Lai Da village, Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city - the hometown of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. 45 people on the bus, most of them elderly, Tay ethnic group. They are simple and honest farmers living in Binh Minh ward, Lao Cai city.
When hearing the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's passing, the atmosphere in the residential areas of Binh Minh ward, Lao Cai city became quiet. The usual happy stories were less, people focused on learning, sharing with each other pictures, documents, good videos , touching and meaningful stories about the life and career of the General Secretary. Ms. Luong Thi Thuan in group 17, Binh Minh ward said: No one in the residential group has had the opportunity to meet the General Secretary in person. We only know about the General Secretary through books, newspapers, and television, but we are very impressed and love this loyal, intelligent, exemplary senior leader who has made many great contributions to the country's revolutionary cause. Therefore, we decided to go to his hometown to burn incense to bid farewell to the respected leader.


In recent years, due to her old age, Ms. Vi Thi Dao in Group 17, Binh Minh Ward, often has leg pain and difficulty walking, especially when traveling long distances. She confided: I am nearly 70 years old this year, and my health is no longer good. My wish in my old age is to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum. Last month, I fulfilled this wish. Now, upon hearing the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's passing, even though my legs are sore and tired, I still try to go back to burn incense and pay my respects to the exceptionally outstanding leader of the Party to fulfill my wish.


Today, the people in the delegation wore the traditional costumes of the Tay ethnic group - the costumes that are loved and respected by the people, and are only used on special occasions to pay their respects to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Joining the stream of people from all over the country to pay their respects and hear more stories about the General Secretary's family background and simple visits to his hometown; witnessing the affection of the people from his hometown and from all over the country for their leader, the members of the delegation were filled with emotion and sorrow.


Early this morning, the delegation was arranged by the organizing committee to visit the General Secretary (pictured above) . Although they tried to hold back their emotions, the members of the delegation still could not hold back their tears.

After burning incense in memory, the members of the delegation continued to move to the central streets, where the motorcade carrying the General Secretary's coffin will pass this afternoon with the wish to "completely send General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong off on his final journey".

At this time, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Hoa, Secretary of the Tien Thang Village Party Cell, Thong Nhat Commune, Lao Cai City, was also present at the hometown of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Like many cadres, party members and people in the province, Ms. Hoa and the party members in the cell were very sad and sorry to hear of the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. With respect for the high-ranking leader of the Party, she reported and was unanimously elected by the cell to represent the cell and the people of Tien Thang Village to return to the General Secretary's hometown to burn incense and pay their respects.
Worried about the long journey, Ms. Hoa returned to Lai Da village on July 22. During her stay here, Ms. Hoa had the opportunity to talk with officials and people in the village and commune. Through the story of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the strangers became close friends. Lighting incense before the General Secretary's spirit, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Hoa was moved to express her gratitude to the talented and virtuous leader of the country.
With hospitality, the people of Lai Da village invited Ms. Hoa to stay and join hands in welcoming visitors. During the 5 days in Lai Da village, Ms. Hoa ate, stayed and lived with the villagers, busily helping with the preparation, welcoming and guiding people to pay their respects to the General Secretary in a complete and solemn manner.

Regardless of the long distance, from the remote border area, many cadres, party members and ethnic people of Lao Cai province came to the capital Hanoi to pay their respects and send off General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to his final resting place with all their sorrow, respect but also pride for a beloved leader who devoted his whole life to the country and the people.
