VTV no longer has no V-League broadcast thanks to successful negotiations with FPT: Where will the HAGL and Nam Dinh matches be broadcast?

After a 0-3 defeat to Becamex TP.HCM in the first match, HAGL is preparing to face an even bigger challenge in the second match of V-League 2025-2026, which is Hanoi FC. The match will be broadcast on FPT Play.

On August 15, VTV sent an official dispatch to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), with the following content: "After the working process, up to now, VTV has not yet reached an agreement on cooperation in producing and broadcasting matches of Vietnam's professional football tournaments withFPT Telecommunications Joint Stock Company (FPT). VTV will continue to work with FPT Company to soon reach an agreement on cooperation in producing and broadcasting tournaments, at the same time VTV will also continue to accompany VFF and VPF in promoting and advertising tournaments, serving domestic sports-loving audiences."

Good news for fans is that on August 19, VTV and FPT Play successfully negotiated. Accordingly, VTV will broadcast live a number of matches in each round of the V-League, specifically starting from round 2, the match between The Cong Viettel and the Ho Chi Minh City Police team tonight and the match between SLNA and Nam Dinh at 6 p.m. on August 23 (both on VTV5 and FPT Play). The remaining matches will be broadcast on FPT Play and many other channels, including the match between Hanoi and HAGL at 7:15 p.m. on August 23.

HAGL faces huge challenges

HAGL’s weaknesses were exposed after the match against Becamex TP.HCM Club (formerly known as TP.HCM Club) last weekend. The mountain town team played too monotonously, they used too many high balls, relied too much on high balls and long balls, while group coordination on the field was quite limited.

Furthermore, HAGL currently lacks a midfielder who can keep the rhythm and regulate the pace of play for the entire team. The mountain town team currently no longer has a player who can play the role of leader like Tran Minh Vuong in recent seasons. Because of the lack of a leader and a player who can keep the rhythm, when they need to play slowly, stay calm, and avoid disrupting the defense, HAGL has not been able to do so in the match against Ho Chi Minh City Club in round 1 of the V-League.

Ho Chi Minh City FC is not a very strong team in the V-League, but they were still able to penetrate HAGL's net 3 times, and also kept a clean sheet against the monotonous attacks of the mountain town team. Therefore, Hanoi FC can do better than Ho Chi Minh City FC. In theory, Hanoi FC is much stronger than Ho Chi Minh City FC. The capital team has more stars and more experience than many other opponents in the V-League.

Hanoi FC themselves are also hungry for victory, after the unexpected stumble against the HCM City Police Club (HCMC Police) in round 1. In that match, Hanoi FC still played very well, making many attacks and launching many dangerous shots towards the HCM City Police Club's goal. The only thing is that they encountered goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang of the HCM City Police Club playing so well, so Hanoi FC had to lose by a narrow margin of 1-2.

Will HAGL have time to fix its weaknesses?

HAGL's defense is not better than that of CA TP.HCM Club. Although goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien of the mountain town team has a lot of potential, he still cannot compare with goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang in terms of reflexes and experience when facing continuous "bombardment" situations from the opponent. Therefore, HAGL in the match against Hanoi FC is predicted to be under a lot of pressure against Hanoi FC.

As for HAGL, this team certainly will not give up when playing away at Hanoi FC. However, to create a surprise against a stronger opponent, HAGL must make many changes compared to themselves in the first round. The team, which is being coached by Technical Director (GDKT) Vu Tien Thanh, must play more diversely, alternating with high balls, long balls, and smooth group coordination on the field, in order to make it difficult for the opponent to predict their attacks.

In defense, the central defenders Jairo Rodrigues, Dinh Quang Kiet and Phan Du Hoc must be more agile and maneuverable to prevent tricky ball handling situations on the field from the attacking stars Van Quyet, Hai Long, Tuan Hai and Van Truong of Hanoi FC.

Fixing so many weaknesses in a short time is not a simple matter, so HAGL may have to prepare to face strong pressure from the most successful team in V-League, Hanoi FC.
