On social networks, since the evening of June 29, many people have begun sharing their experiences accessing the application to view changes in address, especially information on birth registration, permanent residence and current residence. However, when the number of visitors increased dramatically, on the morning of June 30, the VNeID application began to become unstable, sometimes reporting errors in connecting to the system or displaying maintenance notices. Many people said they had to try many times to be able to log in or view the necessary information.

Mr. Le Minh Tuan, an office worker in Dong Da district ( Hanoi ), said: " I tried many times on both wifi and 4G but still couldn't access it. The application kept saying it couldn't connect to the server. I was a bit impatient because now many documents require new address information ."

Ms. Tran Thi Mai, a trader in Hanoi, shared: " I heard that my hometown changed its commune name after the merger, so I wanted to check it out. But I tried opening it dozens of times and it kept crashing, and I could only get in at noon. The update is good, but the system should be upgraded to avoid congestion. "

The Ministry of Public Security said that all new administrative boundary information has been synchronized on the national population database system and will be automatically updated to citizens' electronic identification accounts. Citizens are not required to change their documents, but can use the information on VNeID as a legal basis when carrying out administrative procedures.

In addition, digital map applications such as Google Maps or Apple Maps have not yet been updated to the new geographical category. This data synchronization process will depend on international map service providers.

Faced with the situation where many people share screenshots of their new hometowns on social networks, security experts recommend that people should cover up sensitive information such as ID numbers, dates of birth, specific addresses, etc. to avoid the risk of personal data being leaked.
