According to the plan, U22 Vietnam will have another friendly match with U22 Taiwan (China) on July 4. After this match, Coach Kim Sang Sik will shorten the list of players to prepare for the departure to participate in the regional tournament, with the goal of defending the championship.
The 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship will take place from July 15 to 31, with 10 teams divided into three groups. Vietnam U22 is in Group B with Laos and Cambodia. The teams will compete in a round robin, with the three group winners and the best second-placed team advancing to the semi-finals.
